So, we reached the FINAL Round. The one that will decide who is, and will for always be remembered, as the first SCC-ROC Champion, a title valid both among gtplanet and eutechnyx forums members.

As I said about Round Four, all drivers that have reached this stage have shown incredible skill, be it by performing very fast laps in various tracks, cars and conditions, be it by their consistency in keeping their speed throughout entire races.

But the point of any championship is to decide WHO, among the best drivers, is "primus inter pares". So, we need to know who that guy is, and we will find that out after we know who won the "Title Race".

As for the two drivers that lost their races in Round Four, they too deserve to race this round between themselves. I know it will be a small consolation prize for very fast/very good drivers, but I hope you guys see it as a honour granted and well-deserved for your outstanding achievements in this event.

III - Timeframe for each pairing to do the races:

Starting Monday November 9th, from 02:00 GMT, until Sunday November 15th, with the race result sent by PSN PM to me (PSN ID: GTP_Hun) until 23:59 GMT

Glad you liked it :)

Veterans from FC ROC (like mhm, he finished 3rd in that Event) will notice that I didn't repeat ANY of the cars and ANY of the tracks I used in that previous ROC. I had that intention (to avoid "deja vu" situations), and also had the intention to keep a good balance between Ferrari and non-Ferrari cars. So, I used Ferraris in Rounds 1, 3 and 5, and non-Ferraris in Rounds 2 and 4.

I had a lot of trouble to decide this last track (much more than the car, this one I got decided a long time ago), because the signature-track of SCC is Riviera, not this one.

In the end, I decided for Nurburgring because I think a Final should be held in a real track. Nurburgring GP is a very technical track, very demanding and very cruel when you make a mistake, so winning here is as much about skill as it is about concentration/focus.

Good luck to all participants, I want to see you guys up there in the leaderboard by the end of this week! 👍

hi mario
I think that it is one of the best looking ferraris in the game. And it drives very well too.I just had an hour of pratice yesterday morning, and i'm always looking forward to coming home to see how much mhailwood destroyed my best laptime:)And i don't think we will get top spot on the leaderboard,as the fastest lap is a time set by schumacher or another alian:dopey:

Hi Henrik, glad you like the car. And just keep practising, schumachers and aliens are highly overrated anyway ;)

Well, before this thread goes off-course :D let me just show you something about the car picked to this Final Round. Just a few "numbers" ...

Incidentally, are you aware that Michael Schumacher actually had a hand in the development of this particular car? Although his role within the Ferrari Organization is somewhat undefined, it's well known that he has a consultancy position in the road car division--something to do with fine tuning the handling and general tweaking of the car's behavior. It makes it all the more special. 👍

Of course, it's well known that his team mates had a problem to cope with his rather extreme setups. ;)

Is this the car from the invitational challenge for the 5th stage of the career mode where you race it around Hockenheim, or was that the Maranello? I remember that particular one being an extremely difficult car to drive - only for experts.

No, the car for the invitational challenge was the 550GT. Funny you mention it because it was one of the cars I considered to this Round, very early on.

However, I picked the 575 GTC for one of the FC ROC Rounds (and it wasn't for the final)so finally I chose the 599XX. For several reasons, including:

- nice new car from Ferrari

- race car fitted with slicks

- Finals in FC ROC were with the FXX, so it's nice to have a "newer XX" car now

- no problem to unlock/buy/setup this car, because it's one of those that you can add to your garage simply by pressing the secret code. Anyone can have it, free of charge.

hi guys
Finally had my race with mhailwood. After the 2 laps position desider witch i got,we started
and i was in front the first lap with mhailwood not more than 0.3-0.4 after.on the straight after the finishline he took the inside, and i outbreaked my self.after i got out off the sand i was 6 sec. after.
tryed a little to hard at the chicane gave me a penalty, and now the gap was 11 sec.
He got a penalty on lap 3 at the chicane but it wasn't enough for me to catch him.
the rest of the laps i lost 1 sec a lap,and dispite i had 4 laps in the 1:55:7x he was to quick.he got fastest lap with a 1:54:xx so he was truly flying.
I lost the final be a massive 11 sec.
Still it was great fun.
congratulations to mhailwood:bowdown:

Many congratulations to MHailwood. There can be no doubt that he has proved himself the class of the field with his incredible pace and consistancy in this competition.

Hennrik, you can be proud of yourself. Reaching the final is no mean achievement itself and it's no disgrace to come second to MHailwood. I wish I was as close as 11 secs to him when I raced him a couple of rounds ago!!

A big word of thanks must go to Mario for organising all this. Well done sir!

The only slightly negative thing I would say is that by it's nature a knockout competition like this obviously leads to there being less and less racers involved as time progresses and, perhaps, a league would be something that people would be interested in. I know this would lead to a number of potential complications. For one, the current lag and lobby connection issues would need to be sorted (roll on the next patch) but it would ensure regular competition. What do people think?

!!!!!!!! SARRINEN69 / MHAILWOOD !!!!!!!

Congratulations Jarno/Mike;), you have shown first class driving and the title of champion is truly deserved by you, after a flawless career in this SCC ROC Edition !!!

For those that didn't follow this event closely, these are the adversaries MHailwood had to overcome to earn his title:

Round 1 - cooldawn
Round 2 - RSRacer
Round 3 - turnupdaheat
Round 4 - AlanG184
Round 5 - mhm66

All in all, a very impressive list of adversaries, from Rounds 1 to 5. Beating them all was needed to be champion and MHailwood did just that!

A special mention is also deserved by mhm66, our Vice - Champion! Being the only racer among the top four that participated both in FC ROC and SCC ROC, he managed to improve his finishing position moving up one spot, from 3rd overall in FC to 2nd overall in SCC. Very impressive driving and, to have the honour of reaching the GRAND FINALE, Henrik had to face and defeat both 3rd (AlanG184) and 4th (GTP_Theewar) placed drivers, respectively in Rounds 3 and 4 of this ROC, which means that, in this event, he was second to none other than the champion himself. Congratulations Henrik! 👍

Finally, a big virtual applause is also due to the Irish duo that had - this time - to settle for 3rd and 4th in this event. It may not seem much, but it was no easy task to achieve these very distinguished positions.

Alan had to defeat Ukog-dyer, jjaisli and myself, lost only to mhm66 and MHailwood and again defeated Theewar to claim a well-deserved 3rd place overall.

Theewar had to defeat arvore, ukog-geordie and gtp_madbigdog, losing only to mhm and, in the end, Alan, earning a fully deserved 4th place overall.

All in all, I really enjoyed very much to organize this event, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the guys that supported it from its beggining, especially to:

- Jordan, GTPlanet's owner, for granting this ROC Event official GTP support. Thanks, hope next time you also take part in it 👍 ;)

- Dave Thompson, AKA FerrariPro, AKA Forum Admin at eutechnyx, for also granting this ROC Event official eutechnyx support. And also for taking part in it, that was a show of sportsmanship and a good example on how gaming devs can get close to the fan base of their games and earn their respect. 👍

- The Thunder & Lightning Team, also for their support, helping out with the procedures to assure the fairness of the random pairings, something I dearly needed since I was myself a participant in the event.

- The FCDA, a gtplanet group/club founded by Energiya that I wanted to keep connected to this event, not only because I am a member too but also because I wanted the FC "heritage" to be a part of the SCC Edition of ROC.

Finally, I want to thank all SCC players that took part in this event, whatever result they achieved I hope they all had fun! so ... THANK YOU ALL! 👍

Cheers to everybody who helped organise this event. The Saarinen/Hailwood picture brought tears to my eyes as i've been racing a Yamaha TR2 for 6 years. Both Jarno and Mike raced this exact model of bike in the seventies and unfortunately both racers are now deceased, Jarno was killed at Monza and Mike was killed on the public roads. Hopefully their memories and racing achievements will never be forgotten.

A big congrats to MHailwood/Saarinen 👍

Also well done to both mhm66 and Alan_G for the 2nd and 3rd spots:tup:

This was a great event, put together by a very sound guy,Mario I salute you

Well done to all drivers, specially to the two final competitors and to Mario, for organizing this event.

I support Mario's words about MHailwood's achievement (not underrating mhm66 merit on reaching the final race - well done!) - to eliminate both AlanG and Turnuptheheat in a row is something of value! Well done!!

Well done Saarinen! :) Not TOO unexpected but still very impressive. Basically, any of the final four deserve praise.

And thanks also to Mario for all the work and effort put into this event!!!

We can do both! From what I've heard, the reason this one-on-one knockout exists is because of "lag" problems (it's really bad-prediction of cars' movements, rather than actual latency problems, from what I can see). Following the next patch, we'll have to see what the online races are like.

tkx to the organizer for the hours of work he had to put to keep the event rolling.
Congrats to the winner and the other 3 awarded drivers who are undoubtly amongst the fastest racers in scc online community.
Looking forward being able to participate in the next rounds of this event that i'm hoping will come soon after the patch release...
