Any pointers on the seasonal GTR race? I have the GTR spec V 09 492 hp, but at 1362 kg it's kinda sluggish. Cant shed any more weight. Best lap itme is 1:32xx, never less than :20 behind leadernever better than bronze. What can I do for suspension/tuning? (AlsoI bought the other more spendy GTR's, they're heavier and slower, dont waste ur money)

I got 2nd place 1st try, havent tried again. Increase the toe angle of front and rear and that will make everything a lot easier.

You need 1:27's or better for first place. I used an R34 with 489hp and 12XXkg to get those times.

Some of the old GTR's weigh in at 1100kg or not much over and you can pick some up from the online dealership. An R32 should be much lighter than a R35 though so you could try that.

I did all the Weight loss/Drive Train upgrades. TC -0, ABS - 1. I got first in the last corner of the last lap. Really fun race, competitive. Just make sure you don't crash, and you can brake pretty lap, the GTR V-spec 09 (Stock tune) is an awesome car.

My suggestion is don't worry too much about your lap times, just make sure you are gaining on them and you are overtaking smoothly. The GT40 doesn't do corners well, so it will gradually get slower.

Okay I'll give it a shot.

3 GTR's for sale, cheap if I win with this old car plan!

Like their real life counterparts, a heavier but equally power GT-R is still faster than a older R32-R34 model. The Spec.V with modifications is still the way to go. A clean lap should be getting you 1:27-1:29 times.

I still can't understand why everyone loves the GT-R so much. I really can't. Maybe it's just me not getting the tune right, but I still think it's as nimble as the Titanic. After hitting that iceberg.

But, yeah, it probably is the way to go. I had to wrestle it around every corner, hated its behaviour in general, but getting Silver was still quite easy...

Update, I'm getting 1:30's, no way I ' ll pull 1:27's, these cars are way to squirelly with the crummy tires. my tuning must be off somewhere, is it possible to stae ur exact setup, suspension and everything?

Honestly I thought this one was pretty easy. I averaged around 1:28 per lap and managed to pass up the Ford GT with plenty of time to finish the last couple of turns.

I had sport soft tires and racing suspension but untouched spring rates. I drove very smooth but also very aggressive.

I beat all the other bonus round with no problem. I cant get a grip on this one, tried about all different settings

Made my GT-R into my first real build! At first I had Sport Mediums on, because I didn't look at the tire regulations. After spending a ton of time on the settings, I got to 1.30x seconds behind the GT with those. I'm sure I could have just passed him after more slight changes and better driving, but then put softs on and passed him at the beginning of the fifth lap with this setup:

Nice. The good news is the new paint job helped, I graduated to consistent 1:29,. I followed everything you said, bedides the purple color. i went with brown metallic. I'll never give up! I will play until they pull the bonus roumds

I bought my GTR Vspec to try this after the R34 i tunned wont get better than 3rd.
Did on oil change on the R35 and bam...cannot enter now as it has 509hp. :nervous: What a waste of money.

This one is not that hard really. The 09 GT-R V-spec is a great handling car. That is coming from someone who is Pro American car and normally use them in game. I took 2nd on the second try easy, first try I really did not know the track and messed up a lot on the first couple of laps. That was in a completely stock 09 GT-R with no mod's other then the SS tires.

Then I did the following

Body/Chassis
- Weight Reduction Stage 3
- Window Weight Reduction
- Carbon Hood
- Chassis Reinforcement
- Type A front splitter
- Type A rear splitter
- Type A canards
- Type A rear wing
- > Downforce 11R

You do not need anything else so do not waste your money. The car is a little tail happy but it can be controlled. It took me a couple of times but I got 1st with that. Brake early and the tires will tell you when you are pushing the car to hard.

fun race tho, gotta admit, took me quite a bit of tries to get used to the way the GTR handles but after a while I managed gold. The rx7 of course, that's another story :(

I did it with a Spec V, stock setup except I set the gear limiter to around 155mph for higher acceleration, and set downforce to max.. also putting Skid Recovery on makes it a ton easier

The tunnel section is the key, if you swing wide on entry, then you can get on the gas earlier on the way out, it will shave a good second off your time.

Too many people worry about setups, while your driving lines and skill is actually far more important....
I used a regular R35 GT-R, stock suspension, aero and wheels, max weight reduction, and clutch/flywheel upgrades and got gold fine. It all boiled down to me improving my track knowledge

just re-did the Skyline event. Took some time to get my rhythm down. After suspension tweaking for some more oversteer, I was clocking 1:27.xx lap times with the DS3. But a few goof ups and missed braking zones had me about 3secs off the leader. After nailing more braking zones and throttle inputs (still a few rough missed braking zones) I took Gold in the Skyline event with

Lap 1 1:29.xx
Lap 2 1:28.xx
Lap 3 1:28.xx
Lap 4 1:28.xx
Lap 5 1:29.xx

I don't know what my split times were but I beat this by 1.5 seconds with my 492 BHP Spec-v R35, even though I lost control of the car and hit the barrier of the first corner on the second lap (which cost me about 5 seconds)

Make sure you go and buy sport soft tires if you use the Spec V. It comes with sport hards, and that made the difference for me. The sport hards, I couldn't get within 12 seconds of the leader. Sport softs got me an easy win.

Regular GT-R '07, oil change (bumps power up to the event limit), & weight reductions... Pretty easy to nab the gold & pass the Ford GT w/ a few turns left.

For anyone still struggling with this event remember new is not always best, i keep seeing everyone posting the 09 v spec is the way to go. Yet the better and easier and more forgiving car is the GT-R V-spec(r32) 94.
This car is a handling dream and more forgiving when mistakes are made. you can throw this thing into corners and it will stick and with the correct mods it eats this event. You dont need to mess around with settings one little bit just get the correct mods fitted and thats it.

DO NOT DO A OIL CHANGE!!!!

What you need:
well the 94 gtr from the dealership to start lol.

Like i said no setups needed just buy and drive.(hope this helps anyone still struggling with this event)

Untill this event i never had any intention of buying this skyline, but now i love it. IMO its the best handling skyline in gt5 and once fully modded will be a beast.

Why do you not do an oil change, could probably save on buying some of those mods with the cheap power the oil change would give?
