I am thinking about buying a (seems 7 inch USB is most used) screen to use for fuel/laps/etc.

Would I be able to use a touch screen and would it work or would I have to use buttons on the keyboard to change screens on said monitor? Also what are some good (cheap) brands.

I have only seen members talk a little bit here and there on this topic, I will be grateful for any info and also details on how to setup/change display/ etc.

thank you

I can tell you that the touch screen aspect of a smaller monitor for gauges is not dependant on iRacing's programming, that is a matter of the touch screen programming that comes with the monitor, in short, anyplace iRacing lets you use a mouse to click or input a change, a touch screen will work.

Most people that I know that purchased the small 7" touch screens have had problems with them. I opted for a non touch screen, which was cheaper. I use it strictly for iSpeed and that program opens to that monitor.

I use a 7" Lilliput and so far it has worked rather well for me. I would try and find a reseller which will be cheaper then buying directly from Lilliput.

thank you, think I will order it tonight.

I've been neglecting Iracing for awhile, time to get back into it 👍

I bought the Lilliput 7" non-touch screen, should be here Monday (better be here monday).

I was also looking through the forum, and saw you guys use ispeed and iracedash and you can use your iphone or droid for iracedash. I'm glad I have a galaxy nexus.

I have one last question and it's about ispeed, which one should I download? I see there are 4 different options.

thanks again.

There is only one iSpeed (latest build 3.3.0.0, May 28th, 2012, on main page) don't forget a small donation. When you get it installed let me know, I can help you with the iSpeed analyzer. Also while you are their, download Troy Schulz's one second at a time

Ok i was looking on the wrong section on that site. Once the screen comes and i get it mounted and downloaded I'll let you know, should be here around noon.

thanks again for the help.

They sent me a touch screen when i ordered non touch. Anyway im updating iracing now, then ill install the screen disc. Ill have to wait to hard mount it because the usb cord is too short.

I can not get this thing to work, wont auto start ive everything i can think and it just makes the screen go black on my pc and i have to restart

I just got the iSpeed telemetry and lap analyser, (paid the $15), it is a seriously impressive program, I had to turn back the spotter and decide what to pay attention to from the girl on iSpeed, a great tool, even if it's telling me I'm not doing so well consistently :)

Thanks for the suggestion on that.

You installed the software? There is an update I do believe. Now the fun starts, nVidia or AMD for your main monitors?

Amd i believe (my friend built it for me)

Im not the best with computers but i know its the best system money can buy for $1000

OK, what you need to do, is pull your browser half way off the screen, on your TV. Then right click in an open area of the screen. You will see in the box "Screen resolution" Click on that and then on auto detect. From there you click on "extend desktop to this display" This can be a hit or miss.

Windows doesn't always detect the new USB monitors right away, just keep at it and it should start to work. Keep the power button on for the USB and it should start working. Sometimes its a bugger to get going but once it works it will work everytime you start your PC.

Thank you

I cant even get the software to install, right now it is just plugged in and im searching through the files to fimd the right one to install

well I got it working on my laptop, I think the 2 usb played a big part in messing it up.

next week when these damn windows updates are done on my gaming pc i'll try it again.

I give up, worked fine on my laptop but something is messed up now on my pc. I can't even plug the usb in or the screens go black and I have to restart the pc..

I really wanna try those programs

My buddy (built the computer for me) is going to come over Thursday after work and see if he can work his magic.

Thanks for help though, much appreciated

Sounds like you have issues with your PC, hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks, I really want this thing to work

Yea i saw that the screen doesn't work with 64bit (which is what I have), also I'm trying to delete everything and start over, but there are still some files that I can't find.

Buddy is coming over Thursday to see if he can fix it, if not I'm returning it.

Works perfect on my laptop though. I wasted almost two days going through files lol.

Fingers crossed
