Excellent work once more ! Love the framing of the three first AMG VGT shots 👍 I prefer the dark rendering of the first (it underline the beautfy of the curves of this car) but both are superb ! Excellent angle and beautiful light in "at day's edge", love this one too. And very nice edit work on the last shot !

That last shot is awesome, great editing job.

:D Yep. For once I took a shot with the intention of doing a big edit... And actually did it. Cheers for the visit two months ago, mate.

Fantastic stuff in here Skython. Apologies for not having visited sooner:dunce:

Great job on the rain edit:tup: The last is superb - especially Caught in the Middle. And the toning of the Team Phoenix set is really good - really really good!!

Caught in the Middle is one I was really happy with. :D For once the vision I had intended was exactly the same as the outcome. And it references a song from Dio. Cheers for visiting two months ago, mate.

Very nice rain edit, and the Mercedes shots are very stylish :)

Stylish? :D Yes, yes. Cheers for visiting two months ago, mate.

The VGT ones I took about 5 minutes or so making sure the framing was just right, so I'm happy someone noticed. :D Thanks for visiting two months ago, mate.

Now, anyone who read my thank yous and stuff would notice I said "thanks for visiting two months ago." And that's because it's been two months since I've done an update. Sheesh, that's stupidly ridiculous. And because it's a 4 day weekend, I thought I would get around to posting one of the many updates I have lurking about. This is actually a mix of a few from each of those updates. So the next few might have similar car/track combos. Unless I've ordered it so it doesn't, I don't know I can't remember. Even though I just sorted this update 10 minutes ago.

It's actually been so long since I've done an update, that Flickr has changed their layout, and it's confusing the living daylights out of me.

For more sizes and other stuff that you might want, I don't know what that is, but anyway. For anything else I may have for offer, visit my actual Flickr page. It's full of... Well things you see here.

Well... That was a thing. As you can probably tell, I'm completely blank for thought on a silly idea to go with this update.

While I like the layout in shot number 5, I feel the shot would of looked better with a lower aperture.

Poetic photo names, that's what I like! 👍 The photos themselves are really good too! :)

It's something I enjoy doing myself. Consider I do the whole poetry thing, it's just used in musical form. ;) Thanks for the visit, mate.

*insert compliment here*
*insert 👍 millions of times*

Well done sir. That is like... The laziest post ever. 👍 And it's also the most appreciated laziest post ever. :P Thanks for the visit, Justin.

#6 is lovely! And thumbs up for the photo names! :D

Thanks for the visit, mate. The good thing with the names, is that I can explain the meaning/relevance behind almost all of them to the image. ;)

Hmmm, as usual your feedback is well understood. You're right on that front, thanks for the visit, mate.

Excellent work in your last set ! Really love the first three and the last shots 👍

Thanks, mate. Good to see that you liked a few of them. Meaning I have some consistency. :D

Well, again it's been awhile. I've been absent like I promised I wouldn't be when I first made this GT6 gallery. So I guess I'm back to my unpredictable self, so all is well? I don't know, I'm tired and slightly overworked.

Round Two!

Now, a few years ago there was a set that I did. It was a set based around a 1V1 race @SVX and me had at Top Gear's Test Track and it was me who came out on top at the end of the race in an orange Toyota 86 GT (Josh in his silver 86 GT). And two years later we found ourselves both with Gran Turismo 6, a new playground for us to try out. Now he's a little bit slow mentally :P, so it took almost two years for Josh to realize that he can ask for a rematch now that we both can race again. This time Josh chose a venue.

Away from England's grey skies and Steve Harris, and to Japan and its many people who like to make cars go sideways and have a global cult following for their cartoon pornography amongst other things. After getting lost at least 50 times on the short drive there, Josh had already done a few laps. And when I realised where we were, I wasn't very happy. We were at Tsukuba.

The issue with this is... I've never been terribly interested in Tsukuba, I don't really understand what's so great about it. So when people go on and on about how great is I just get confused. But nonetheless, I continued. There waiting was my black Scion FR-S, identical spec to the one driven by Josh (though his was orange), so I set onto the track. Josh and me were chatting via our radios throughout our practice session. Frequently out pacing each other trying to find those extra tenths to have the edge in the race. I was a tiny bit faster through the majority of the track, but Josh made all the time back in his speed in the final turn every time. Though in the end it was Josh who proved to have that extra edge in punching out a very quick lap in the Scion FR-S almost three tenths quicker than my best lap.

So we prepared for the race, and we lined up on the track. Josh keen for a win to balance out the ratio of my one to his none.

1. Round Two

After the first turn it was Josh who led the way after holding the inside line, I tucked in nicely behind him.

2. Reading the Lines

So from behind I started watching his lines, trying to gain an edge on the corner exits.

3. Uniform Precision

Heading towards the hairpin, I was sitting right on Josh's tail, looking to pass on the hairpin. But to avoid rear ending Josh I backed out earlier than he did. Though Josh went into the turn hot headed and on the exit I made it past. I held the lead into the next lap, and we battled it out through the first few turns.

4. Side by Side

Eventually Josh made it past again, on one of the hairpins if I remember correctly. I maintained my consistency, making little mistakes watching for Josh to get it wrong.

5. Falling Away

And inevitably, on the last lap, at the southern hairpin, Josh botched it up completely.

6. Kicking and Screaming

This allowed me to recover a lead and just hope Josh's speed in the final turn didn't catch me out.

7. Rage

But it didn't, so I held an "L" in Josh's direction, and Josh expressed his dissatisfaction in the result...

8. Frustration

So there we have it, round two of SVX vs Skython. There was going to be a round three, but we got distracted with a 750HP El Camino and a 1100HP Pagani Huayra around Le Mans with comfort hards (there were no winners).

9. In Silent History

Thank you for viewing, it's been far too long coming this set. Considering that race was done late December or early January.

I'll get you some day. Just watch me. :mischievous:

Awesome, awesome set brah. Toning is fantastic, really shows the intensity our race had. Throw it on a mountain pass and some Eurobeat and someone may think that they're watching Initial D. :D

You get your revenge in GTA V... By blowing up my Phoenix, and more recently... My El Camino. :grumpy: But the joke's on you, because you pay for insurance. :sly:

Now, your Initial D idea could never happen. The only music I'd allow in any of my updates is metal. I think this update would be Edguy's Out of Control. Simply because the song title described your driving. :mischievous: Thanks for the comment, Josh.

Liking the action-packed set, Alex! 👍

Can't wait for the next one!

Yes, very action packed... Like Bruce Willis driving a V8 powered plate of bacon through minefields. Thanks for the visit, Justin.

Nice action captures in the set. They have a good feel to them. Most of all I like that preview shot though. 👍

Again, you've managed to tell the whole race in a few pics and great commentary! 👍 You've some talent for this! :)

Well I do have a GT6 story in the race reports section [/shameless plug], so that helps when it comes to doing race commentaries. Thanks for the visit, mate.

Yeah, action was my main goal. So it's good to see someone commenting about that. Thanks, mate.

But anyway.

-------------------

Three weeks have passed since my last update, so anyone who is familiar with my release schedule would be wondering... Why on earth is he posting? He usually takes like 500 years to even consider doing anything, let alone actually do something. Now the reason for this is that T.Wat usually puts us on a weekly salary rate. So whether we do more or less work means nothing. So usually I just sit back and claim I'm still waiting on comments and then he goes back to his office. But now, he's put me onto an hourly rate, so I actually have to do something. I tried bluffing about my hours but he didn't believe me and I didn't have lunch for a week, so now I have to actually do work... Which sucks! Before I had money for nothing but without chicks for free... Now I have neither.

So for this update, I had to put in more photoshop efforts to use up work hours. So enjoy, and be sure to critisize the ones that didn't work quite as well as I would have liked.

*Cough!* Pontiac Firebird! *Cough!*

History

This time around I managed to get four proper classics (and a Pontiac Firebird), and while I was in Italy (and later Spain), I may or may not have gotten drunk and taken a black Mercedes 300 SL for a bit of a drive but then some moronic BMW hit head on into me! SHaa!! This is why we can't have nice things, I was meant to be photoshooting that 300SL, but no. BMW drivers ruin everything! They're almost like the fun police of the car world... Or something...

But anyway, here we go.

1. History's Light

2. Battle at the Collosseum

3. AlPine in the City

4. Stratosphere

But anyway, that's a wrap. Bet you're surprised that I didn't use any of the new content... Well that's because I took these shots quite awhile ago, I just had to get around to posting them. :P

Thanks for visiting!

My favorite shot of this update is the last one. 👍 Number 6 is nice as well. The 9th one could be a killer shot with the right lighting and depth of field.

While most of shot number 11 looks peaceful, it has to be said that the car isn't so peaceful on the other hand. :irked:

Love the angles and composition of your shots! I have to say that last shot from the latest update is my favorite though!

Really nice shots mate! My fave from this update is "In Silent History". Love the perspective and the sense of gazing up at the stars.👍

I also like the sky that's been added in the last shot. It gives the image a slightly more artistic feel.👍

Day to day life can become a repetition, and it can leave you numb, and void of feeling the passion you spent years building. Sometimes disappearing and recharging your passion is a necessity. But for some, pushing your side projects to make sure all your energy goes into what you love is most important. I fall into this latter method, and when that comes together with a realistic rock blocking the cave of creativity, I struggle to understand why I exist on this earth. I begin to forget why I bother, why I strive to create when it all has no realistic meaning whatsoever. Why do I do it? It doesn't make me a living, and it doesn't help anyone else, so why?

The answer is simply expression. Expression hides in every piece of art, because art is simply expression in form, be it audible or visual. What you express is infinitely variable, so the scope for ideas is infinite. Maybe you're just expressing your passion for cars like we all do here. Or perhaps you've expressed your feelings on an event in your life. The event may not be significant in the future, but for the moment the event is from here to the moon. And that is the time where you create art. When that expression is big enough to impact your ideas and push you to create.

Now you are probably wondering if you've read this far, why am I talking about this? Yes, I've been away for awhile, nor am I a particularly good photographer. And even for me, this gallery is not my entire world, and it's not necessarily significant for any others, but for the times I spend here, it's to the moon. So I won't delay this any longer, let us start the show.

Art is the rejection of repetition, and without it, I would not have a reason to be here.

------------------

Why did I choose to name this set repeat? Maybe it's for Audi's repetitive Le Mans victories; maybe it's the racing circuits we repeat time and time again; or maybe it's about repeating the action of taking these photos, even when we feel there isn't a good reason to. I'll leave it to interpretation. But for now, we enjoy the peace we create for ourselves, even if just for a moment.

#11 rocks!👍

Nice one, Alex!

Thanks, Justin! (a year late)

While most of shot number 11 looks peaceful, it has to be said that the car isn't so peaceful on the other hand. :irked:

Thanks, Pebb! I should have probably used a different car. But no, that would have been too easy. (a year late)

Love the angles and composition of your shots! I have to say that last shot from the latest update is my favorite though!

Thank you very much, Yui. (a year late)

The sky thing was the goal this set, even if in a few shots it looks absolutely awful (the Pontiac one :yuck: Thanks, man. (a year late)

Nice shots and colors in this latest set with the pre-90s cars.

Thanks, Mazda. (a year late)

Except for the cheesy lens flare, it's an excellent set, Alex! 👍
I like Turned To Dust and Blur more!

Nice to see you back mate :)
Never been away form here and the photomode for such a long time but I understand what you've said, I often get the same feeling
Great collection of original shots in this last set. The choice of angles is especially good. If I had to choose a favorite I would pick "Architectural" because I love this kind of shot but the others are also really great.

Very nice comeback mate! And I couldn't have said those words better myself. 👍 Without artistic expression, this world would be a helluva boring place.

My faves from your latest set would have to be Compromise and Blur.
