That's a good-looking car - needs a different colour though!

How long till this appears in GT?

1) The color is Viper Green, and is a factory color. Personal taste, but I love it.

2) Never. It's a Porsche.

Hopefully it can get into the next installment of GT.. RWB's cars are magnificent, it'd be nice to see it in Gran Turismo.

Is it still considered a Porsche is it officially one of those tuner cars? I suppose that's the question that'll determine whether or not it can be in a GT game.

But I think Viper Green looks much better on oh, say... a Viper! :sly: I think Orange, yellow, red, or black would suit this car quite well!

Not sure how that'd work either. Probably listed as a tuner car..

I'd love to see this RWB in GT6 as well
:)

Then why would they pick it?

It's only won one catergory, not the best in show GT award which will decide the car that goes into the game.

Even if it does win the best in show they don't have to put it in the game, it all depends on licenses.

This would look so good in matte black.

Will they hurry up and announce the overall winner??

The anticipation is killing me as much as I know it shouldn't.

Found another Category winner! Apparently a member over at the Playstation blog ran into Jordan and they both agreed that this Mustang is pretty damn nice.

Here it is.

I love the idea of finally having a non-Shelby early model Mustang in the game... and this car certainly doesn't disappoint! But I have to say that the wing is kind of tacky... :s

Also, do we really want to have a three-year pony car resto-mod sweep?

"That's actually a really cool Mustang. And a hardtop too rather than a fastback!"

*sees spoiler*

nope.avi

That was exactly my reaction to it.

Although in it's defense, it actually looks a little less tackier than most of the spoilers that you buy for Standards (and most Premiums for that matter) from GTAuto... so the car might fit right in!

That mustang is the first car I've seen from SEMA that I actually don't really like. Wings just don't suit a 1960s Muscle car.

There's a reason this car won.

Wouldn't necessarily guarantee it'll win best in show. For all we know, it was likely the less tacky of the cars in its category.

I'm still trying to dig up more information from the web, but everyone's either talking about that Mustang or talking about the Porsche.

I found this post that is extremely frustrating since the author specifically mentions seeing all of the finalists... but only talks about the Porsche and the 'Stang. *Sigh*

Apparently the other three must not be worth considering!

a) That Porsche looks great, its just a pity the modders didn't flush fit the body kit to the original body. Kind of lets it down. Get Chip Foose in there, he'll show them how to do it properly!

b) That Mustang is revolting with that rear wing. It's completely out of character with the rest of the car.

We've been wondering this for years - what happens if a Porsche wins the GT Award at SEMA. I guess we'll find out soon.

It is, however, worth noting how GT treats the SEMA winners in game...

2003 winner: Buick Special '62; Buick base car; Listed under Buick (GT4)
2004 winner: HPA Motorsports Stage II R32; Volkswagen base car; Listed under HPA (GT4)
2005 winner: AEM S2000; Honda base car; Listed under AEM (GT5)
2006 winner: Art Morrison Corvette '60; Chevrolet base car; Listed under Art Morrison (GT5P)
2007 winner: HPA FT565 Twin Turbo Audi TT; Audi base car; Listed under HPA (GT5)
2008 winner: High End Performance G37; Infiniti base car; Listed under High End Performance (GT5)
2009 winner: Grand Touring Garage 1970 Ford Mustang Trans-Cammer; Ford base car; Listed under Grand Touring Garage (GT5)
2010 winner: Mark Stielow 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Red Devil Pro Touring; Chevrolet base car; Not included

Since the Buick Special, not one car has been included under its base car's manufacturer...

That doesn't mean that they haven't had to acquire licenses from the base manufacturer though.

So far they've already had licenses to all the names of the base cars which won the Award, or at least other cars from the base manufacturer were in included, and except in the case of the Buick, even the base car was featured.

Can't remember the last time the Porsche name was used, though. They don't have to per se, but then RUF cars don't have the Porsche badge on them like the Rauh Welt does. A RUF is a RUF - a Rauh Welt Porsche is still a Porsche.

Indeed not - though two of the manufacturers don't have the appropriate base car in the game.

The 1970 Mustang Fastback isn't in the game either - just the Mach 1.

Can't remember the last time the Porsche name was used, though.

They've used the Porsche name repeatedly in GT3, GT4 and GT5 - in the descriptions for Ruf

As I mentioned, some of us have been wondering what would happen if this occurred for a number of years. We get to find out now - though I'd quite like the 1969 Camaro from last year added first.

The Porsche did not win Best In Show, so how would it be in GT?

This won Best in Show Mary Pozzi for her 1971 custom Chevrolet Camaro

Que the bitching about how another American car won.
