Strange how these muscle cars keep winning, but there are very few actual muscle cars in the game.

a) That Porsche looks great, its just a pity the modders didn't flush fit the body kit to the original body. Kind of lets it down. Get Chip Foose in there, he'll show them how to do it properly!

That's just the look of RAUH-Welt's cars. Nakai-sa (the owner of RAUH-Welt) is a man who believes that cars need to look distressed. When people come to take pictures of the cars at his garage, he doesn't wash them. There's even pictures of one car's rear fender being expertly held together by zip-ties. He seems like the guy who grinds his fenders going over speed bumps and curbs and doesn't give a crap.

Who were the other two finalists in the event, by the way?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found an article.

So...a Camaro...with 18s and Falkens...and paint...and probably a supercharger or turbo or something else oh so unique.

At least the other winning cars have always been cool.

It is, however, worth noting how GT treats the SEMA winners in game...

2003 winner: Buick Special '62; Buick base car; Listed under Buick (GT4)
2004 winner: HPA Motorsports Stage II R32; Volkswagen base car; Listed under HPA (GT4)

Wonder if we'll ever get premium versions of those cars.

Maybe I'm just ignorant of previous GT SEMA winners, but the HPA VW, Buick, and S2000 Drifter follow a very similar formula. Tasteful, high quality, and well thought out modifications without a huge focus on innovation.

I'm not a huge fan of the Mustang, the widebody kit messed up the lines and the spoiler looks out of place. The whole thing looks like a Hot Wheels car. Also, why did they bother putting on a 289 badge if they're running an LS engine. I have to admire the craftsmanship and attention to detail.

My reaction to the Mustang:

YEAAAAAAHH

WTF? Ewwwww.

GET THE **** OUT. THAT IS AN INSULT TO FORD AND THE MUSTANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least some kind of Muscle won again. I like that body style of the Camaro but I'd of preferred a few years later because I don't like the front end.

I don't understand this perspective. The LS engine family is arguably the best way to fit all the power and torque you could use into any package you want.

They're extremely well designed, compact with a low center of gravity, and have massive aftermarket support. It's a damn good engine. Hell, I'm considering getting one of these for my Mustang. I already run a GM HEI distributor and my 4 barrel carburetor is based on a GM design from the 1950's that Edelbrock picked up.

The whole American Manufacturer Civil war between Ford, GM, and Mopar has only kept people from having better parts in their cars.

Am I the only one who sees the out of shape, stuck on like a glitch, spoiler on the Porsche?

If you honestly are that furious about that, you need to chill out. I'm not sure that many Explanation marks is necessary either.

No I'm not furious about it, lol, as much as it may seem, I'm just a die hard Ford guy and seeing a GM in a Ford to me is an insult.

Agreed.

In my opinion the new 5.0L is just as good as the LS, and they could have used that instead.

They could have, but the LS7 is a 7.0 liter engine. That's a huge difference. Even if they stroked the 5.0, they probably wouldn't go over 347ci (5.7L). Although they could probably mod the 5.0 or stroker up to 500hp+, it would require a hot cam or forced induction; both of which bring heavy drawbacks.

Sounds like lazy craftsmanship rather then going to a ratrod-esque look.

If you consider this fact by itself, then yes. But having read the Speedhunters article and seeing many of their cars in picture galleries... I just take it as being part of the style. RAUH-Welt cars are raunchy, rowdy and rough around the edges. In my opinion, if I wanted flush and form-fitted body panels I'd buy a Porsche from any other tuner out there.

No, No, no, no, no.

I feel compelled to slap you with a trout for suggesting that. :grumpy:

If he gets his hand on it, it'll be sitting on the largest, most useless gaudy chrome American wheels he can fit, sport a two tone paint with some randomly applied graphic hightlights, just like every other cars he've ruined.

OK, so they have chrome wheels, but still, you cannot deny that these two creations are simply GORGEOUS!

Chip Foose is incredible at what he does, and he makes it work (99% of the time - **thinks of Honda Civic Coupe** yuck!! )

Anyway, back to the thread in hand, I think the Porsche would have been a worthy winner, personally, I'm not that keen on the front end of the Camaro....... and that Mustang is something else, simply gorgeous :D

I'm sorry, but Chip Foose designs are lookers, not drivers.

No side mirrors, no wipers. But yeah, they look good.

I would have loved the Porsche To be honest but that Camaro is Lovely

Did Jordan Post his interview yet ??

I was more getting at that Chip Foose has great attention to detail and his creations usually involve subtle, but amazing rebodies (that dont use zip ties :P).

Honestly?

They're very boring, boring, average looking, cookie cutter, custom cars. Chip Foose's undoing is with his lack of creativity, each of his work literally look like one another.... probably since his first creation. He never tries to expand his ideas and style, he just copy paste it from one car to another.

I don't even need to question those massive pizza dish wheels, they're very ugly on older vintage cars.

The man can draw well, but that's all I think he's good at.
