Each race will have 15 minutes of qualifying, and the races themselves are expected to be somewhere in between 45-60 minutes in length. Should you wish to participate in the event, you have to sign up in this thread, or by PM to me. Furthermore you have to attend at least one practice session, in order to prove yourself capable of driving clean and fair. There will be plenty of practice sessions to join before the event.

Participants will aquire points based on the position they finish in, in the different races.

1st receives 25 points.
2nd receives 20 points.
3rd receives 15 points.
4th, 5th and 6th receives 10 points.
7th and 8th receives 8 points.
9th and 10th receives 5 points.
0 points for anyone finishing above 10th place.

If you sign up, I expect you to be commited. Should something prevent you from joining, you need to PM me as soon as possible. Furthermore, I expect participants to stay up to date on rules, and to not quit the race under any circumstances. If you can't follow these simple rules, then don't bother signing up. I've had it with people who sign up, only to forget about it the next day.

Rules and guidelines: In my events, you're off track as soon as you have less than two wheels on the track(Tarmac). Should you go slightly off track on rare occasions, it's no big. However, if you go off track by more than a car width, I expect you to slow down, and re-enter. Of course you should always take care not to re-enter the track right in front of other drivers.

In the events that have weather change on, the rules regarding intermediate/rain tires, are as follows. You are allowed to change into intermediate/rain tires after the track has reached 20% surface water. From there on out, you're free to choose between the two different rain tires. When Track surface has gone below 20%, you are obligated to change back into dry tires.

You will of course do your best to drive clean and fair. Should you be responsible for damaging another driver, you will escort him/her to the pits.

Car and tuning restrictions: This event has a wide array of different cars to choose from. No more than 2 cars of the same model is allowed in the race, so it's first come, first served. Each participant must choose one car to use throughout all 4 races.

Count me in too please. I'll give it a shot with the BMW 135i. I made a selection of cars and tested/tuned them to fit the regulations, among them were the skylines. There might be a problem with the skylines, if you buy one of the skylines their power output already is 310 hp (RB26DETT ftw :)). I don't know exactly how much power they gain after they are fully broken in, but i think that will be more than 5 hp. Since the use of power limiter is prohibited, they will not fit the regulations eventually.

Any idea when the first practise session will take place?

The stock Skylines have more than 300BHP after an oil change? Damn, that's a lot of hidden power. If that is the case, I'll take them off the list.

Practice will begin as soon as possible.

How do you enforce the modifications? Or is it basically honor code?

Participants will be asked to upload their car's a day before the race, so I can check it. Other than that, there isn't much I can do, as the game doesn't allow me to completely disable the ridicules power limiter.

BTW. I need your PSN ID too.

It's even without oil change.... i don't know if the R32 has the same amount of power, i tested only the R33. But they have the same engine though...

The (stock) engine of the GTR versions IRL have over 300 HP as well, despite the Japanese goverments rule of allowing a maximum output of 280 HP.... Don't know how nissan passed certification.

I'll join tomorrows practise session.

My guess is that Nissan simply stated that their cars produced 276BHP(as stated in the dealership). Not like the authority is going to check every car leaving the factory :).

.

Have I missed something, only 280BHP? serious? Wow. That I did not know

It is indeed. All in one run. It's a saturday, so it shouldn't be a problem.

At least if we disconnect you won't be out of the whole thing.

Before a vehicle is allowed on public road, the whole thing needs an approval of an official certification authority. A takedown of a full load curve is a part of the tests, and the results may not differ to much from what the manufacturer has specified. The engine definitely is a part that will strictly be checked. At least nowadays. I think the certification authorities in the early '90s weren't that strict, since the greenhouse gasses still needed to be discovered. Perhaps nissan installed a 30 hp airco :sly: unit at their tests. Authorities do check engines/vehicles leaving the factory, but with random checks. Nevertheless, the RB26DETT is an awesome piece of engineering.

I'll see y'all tonight

Room is up!

Room number is 1472-6118-3830-2747-7471.

And the session has ended, with a few things learned. The BMW 135i is a bit of a concern, as it combines great speed along with great agility. I don't want to take it off the list entirely, but I'd like to change its minimum weight limit to 1450kg. This shouldn't effect its already great handling too much, but it should decrease it's acceleration to a degree where it becomes more fair. I really hope the drivers using the car will understand. It just seems a bit too fast on the straights, completely robbing the FF cars of their one advantage.

I might do the same thing to the Jaguar XK Coupe.

The founder of lotus, colin chapman, had a great quote an design philosophy:

"Adding power makes you faster on the straight, decreasing weight makes you faster everywhere"

I think the 150 kg might be to much of a penalty. Its like having two passengers on board. Am i allowed to add this by means of adding ballast? I believe my BMW has stage 3 weight reduction, which i can't remove. I already have 21 kg added to reach 1300 kg. If not, i have to buy a new one. And i wasted a matte black paint chip if that's the case.

I'm going to do some testing on Spa with other cars to see how they stack up to the BMW at 1300 kg and at 1450 kg. I'll test cars from the MR, FR and AWD selection, and don't even bother to try FWD because FWD never was designed for racing purposes. I guess its the human nature to race everything that has an engine and wheels...

If you are really adding over 10% more weight to the i135. I would like to switch to the rx8

I'm currently testing with MattieM, and I think we'll keep the same weight limit on the BMW as the other cars. However, you will not be able to do any power mods to it, other than the oil change.
