So, has anyone tried copying their GT2 settings to identical GT3 cars yet? I just copied my old Clio Sport settings from the GT2 Foundry and it seems to have worked well. The only problem I had was with gear ratios since the GT2 Clio was a 5 speed and the GT3 Clio has six gears.

Comments welcome.

I do not think it would be possible to try to emulate the shifting characteristics of the 5 speed without the engine curve data, which is foolishly absent in GT3, unless I have missed it, at least not accurately.

This page might be useful, check out the pdf file. http://compact.h1.ru/ren.htm

I didn't have any problems setting gears, only copying the old ones due to the differences. Also, there was plenty of information available since the cool little gear travel graph from GT is back as well as the ususal stuff like HP and torque info.

Thanks for the link though.

I have found that the unmarked graph is almost as useless as no graph at all.

And not seeing the SHAPE of the torque and HP curves sucks more than Linda Lovelace ever did!:D I mean, it wouldn't be so bad if they posted a certain stat I'd like to see on all cars; the 80% range. That is, the RPM range at which torque/HP is > 80% peak output.

You guys are absolutely right; You cannot correctly set gears without Hp and torque curves. If you're that intent on getting it right, you could break out the ol' slide rule and go through a very laborious procedure to nail down the torque curve.
If you're interested, E-mail me and I'll tell you how.
If you just want to get it close, select a first gear that will haze the tires, a top gear that will hit redline at the end of the longest straightaway, and space the remaining gears evenly. experiment with the number of gears available for best results.
