As it so happens, I've spent several days tuning this car. You can read my writeup at my geocities site here.

Note that this is not the end-all be-all of tunings, but it might put you on the right track.

hoss, a few aspects of your tuning look peculiar to me. you havent even delved into independent shock tuning. the rear springs look way to soft to get any power down.

not just trying to criticise, i will give tsukuba a go and develop my own setup to show you. problem is i just got the game and am taking it slow, i have nowhere near 100,000 credits to spare. luckily, the first car i bought was a little 1.6 miata. i predict without wasting 60gs on stage 3 weight reduc and stiffening ill be able to get under 1:10 pretty easy.

on second thought, are you sure you are not retarded hoss? I just took 5 laps at the track in my miata 1.6 setup as was. first lap 1:06, second lap 1:05.......

the extent of my tuning was semirace, or was it sports suspension, 1.5way LSD, brakes, sport soft tires, stage 2 lighten, and some power mods. it has 199hp and i probably only reached 102mph on track.

imo, if you are trying to give someone else advice on how to tune a car you should make note at the bottom of your posting that you ride at the front of the bus. there is even more misinformation about car setup floating around this forum than there was when gt3 came out. when everyone comes here claiming they know what they are doing, when they obviously dont, things just get worse for the people trying to learn.

on a different note, if i come up with 50k to throw away soon ill spend a couple minutes setting my little yellow 1.6 (blue volk wheels) up for tsukuba. the miata makes its way around that tracks slow corners really well.

Wow mate, you really have some respect issues don't you? The bloke was just peacfully shareing his car specs. He wasn't claiming he knew everything, that's just the setup that worked for him and he clearly was getting some decent times! I hardly thing it was worth calling the bloke a retard! Infact that comment was just in plain bad tase. You really need to calm down and have a little respect. You don't even know the guy and you're insulting him, just take a chill pill mate and calm down!

Anyway, now to get on topic. I have a 350hp 2001 model MX-5. My first car, bought it second hand. I've done almost everything to it other than the rigidity and the body reconstruction thing. It has 350hp and has the ability to keep up with Vipers and GTs on some courses, thanks in a big way to the addition of NOS. But the main reason is it's light weight, allowing it to brake late and accel early thru corners. I don't have the exact setup to show you yet, but I will go and write it all down now and edit this post with the specifics.
I also bought a 2004 rs to compare with the older model. It's not finished yet, but I should have it done in the near future. It should be interesting ;)

I've included a picture of my little white beast here:

Thanks people
