#8: Flexibility in the performance of our cars. Supercharger or Turbocharger or both? How many turbos? Adjustable boost? Dual clutch or sequential single clutch? How about different tires in the front than the rear? This kind of choice and detail make tuning make a huge difference between creating a racing machine versus slapping parts on a car.
#9 Let all types of parts affect weight and weight distribution. This quickly changes the "stage 1 - 3" effect. This forces the player to chose parts more carefully instead taking the most expensive choice. To keep the attention of the pick-up-and-play players, you can have the stages like past years. This makes cockpit upgrades and weight upgrades the same thing. It's awkward to bring a roll cage and remove seats without losing weight.
#10 Visual upgrade flexibility. Can we chose the color of out racing seats and brakes? What about the color of our gauges after works conversion? Can the brand of tires and brakes be a choice also? Remove passenger seat?
#11 Update the existing cars that always show up. I'm pointing directly at the Cayman, Challenger Concept, the 911s, S4, etc.

Please please take out the reset button for online. It causes more accidents than the guy who over runs the first corner. It places them in the middle of the track instantly. Even if you hang back to avoid the accident when you come through BAM there they are. No warning just carnage.

Add a wheel weight option to the FFB settings - I like to get a really good work out when driving. F12010 was awesome at 100% wheel weight until they patched it and reduced the effect 
I find those tiny long straight corrections hard to get right without feeling some weight immediately (DFP)
Otherwise I agree with most of the suggestions above except for the 'buying pit crew' one. Let's not make it more complicated than it needs to be. Look at what happened to GT5! Someone will be suggesting 'free roam' next <sigh>
This incarnation of the game has turned out to be great. The first shift I have enjoyed well done SMS!
My most important wishlist would be...
Patchable?...
1) Wheel weight option.
2) Autoload existing saved setup for car/ circuit combination.
S3 probably...
3) in event practice, setup & qualifying
4) More options for quick race
5) custom champtionships

Yeah I knew I was streching it a bit with the buy a pit crew Idea
