That is exactly what I did. I tried it. So here's my LaFerrari with a ''Half matte white carbon'' bodyThat is exactly what I did. And you can definitely get some cool effects doing that and using different levels of opacity.
And if you change the opacity level down to say 20%, it'll give a different effect. Sometimes, it'll start to be a really cool silver looking carbon fiber color.
