I just ordered an original Xbox for my first ever Xbox purchase. Picked up some games today to be ready for when it does come in.

All of them are complete with manuals, and some even have the 2 month OG Xbox Live voucher included in the case, which I think is pretty cool.

I finally got myself a gaming chair. Definitely Not the most expensive, but it's made a world of difference. I used to buy those extra-cushiony office leather chairs (never again), and it took me too long to realize it was a mistake. This is a whole different kind of comfort, but after a day, my back and neck are thanking me.

How does that chair on wheels work when you have to slam on the brakes?

Because my dad found a box of floppies that belonged to early 90's Dennisch :

Because today's Dennisch wants an optical out on his pc :

And because I wanted to know what all the fuss is about, and people around me too, and it was cheap (I will make money selling this again) and the only one available:

Are you going for first editions?

Got this in the mail today.

The first two books were fantastic so I'm excited to see how the trilogy ends. I would highly recommend them to anyone that likes spy thrillers.

I also got this a week or so ago, figured I would finally start the Dark Tower series. Planning on getting all the books in hardcover.

Today I learned that TV antenna connections in the USA are different than ours. It took me a moment to realise that. Ours (mine) don't need that adapter.
You know I questioned if that part of my post was even worth typing, I guess it was! :) That's interesting though, I wonder why yours is different than ours, it puzzles me.

If it is
TB
RG-59 or RG-6 for us.
....what would yours be?

Kind of makes me jealous in a way because as far as I know, you could just easily plug it in. Only thing is, since my TV is digital, I had to fiddle around with it for a few minutes and have it search for analog channels in order for it to detect it. All that trouble just to turn it to channel 3 pretty much and to think it used to be so simple!

My mom actually sat down and played the console whenever got it set up and honestly can't recall the last time she did that. :dunce:

The left is the same as the connection on the rear of my TV. The right one is the cable that goes into the tv, or nowadays into the tv box supplied by the provider.
Ours is also Rg-59 and 6, but the connections are different.
We call it coax cable.

Also .

I could have hooked you up with the stuff .

Ended up buying a Canon 7D Mark II from my journalist friend. (Not my photo)

Nice buy. I've had one for a couple of years now and it really is a great body. Looking forward to your pictures when you start shooting on this.

I've liked it so far. Got a Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4 and a Canon 70-300 F4 with it, as well as a battery grip. Honestly tempted to buy his Tamron 70-200 F2.8 as well. Got to try it out yesterday and I really enjoyed it.

Uppers and downers. Can’t believe how expensive the purple ones are compared to the other ones.

Because I waste little time finding a reason to not have money in my pocket. Anyway, here's a bunch of stuff I picked up for my arcade stick here.

@TB that housekeeping offer still on the table?

These were bought last year but I haven't bought anything of note since anyway:

A complete Linhof Technika kit (not seen are a 210mm lens, 6x9 roll film back and a reflex viewfinder). Awesome camera, it's a rangefinder too so I can have a go at some large format street photography

I've also been building a darkroom since mid-Oct last year, so I bought some enlargers:

1.8x Leica Focomat V35 enlargers - I originally bought one complete enlarger (with a bunch of trays for processing the prints), saw another a few weeks later but was missing the filters/lens, picked it up for free and moved the filters and lens from the first into the second one - I now have a spare chassis should anything go wrong with the main one. Really wonderful design, very solidly built. Came with a Leitz timer/exposure meter as well which was nice.

An LPL C7700 for my 6x6/6x7 negs. It's a decent enlarger, not as nice to use as the Leica but it does the job. This one was also bundled a really precise Durst digital timer as well.

Everything manages to fit in a storage cabinet under the stairs!

I bought some stuff in the few months I left GTP and I can remember only two things.

  • LG Q6 smartphone
  • Brother DCP-J772DW printer/scanner

In other words I got an 8700K, Asus Z370-F, Noctua NH-U14S, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000 and yeah, a Fractal Design Meshify C with the dark tinted glass. I kept the Zotac Amp Extreme GTX 1080, Corsair RM650X, 2x500GB Samsung 850 Evos, 250GB 850 Evo, 250GB 840 Evo, 500GB Intel 600p and... Oh yeah, the Gigabyte 802.11ac card.

I didn't, however, keep the daisy chain of cable ties to support the 1.8kg cooler on the graphics card so as you can see, it's sagging a bit. I'm going to ask someone at work to make me a thing to straighten it out.
