500 GB, 5-year warranty, $120 (!). Boo-yah.

I wanted to get a proper external HD for Time Machine. :)

I almost got the 750GB version of that for $179. Decided not to, and wait for the 1TB version which I hear is coming out in a few months.

I plan to use it for eSATA connection to my DirecTV HR20 for movie archiving.

Okay, $800 on my car in less than a month is enough. Until the next few pay checks...

From the left: diaphragm/pressure plate, throwout bearing, tiny pilot bushing, a nifty alignment tool, and the friction disc.

It's literally 5 times quicker than my old laptop on some applications, which is really nice. Runs games a few years old like a dream too - Half Life 2 with almost full settings, Painkiller on full settings pretty smoothly. Even Age of Empires 3 runs well. BIG fan pushes lots of heat out the case, which I suppose is a good thing rather than hardly anything escaping from my old one...

I bought the cheaper version with the 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo, but they gave me the wrong one, so I have the 2.2ghz version! Pure luck saved me £120... :D

Computer feels robust, but doesn't look near as good as, say, a Sony Vaio, but it's good enough.

I purposly pushed the CPU to 100% (and probably GPU too) by playing Age of Empires 3 while running Folding@Home in the background, to see what temperatures it would get after half an hour. Result:

Overall, I'm very happy with it. No issues have appeared whatsoever, just the LCD display isn't the best in the world. You have to sit bang-on in the middle to see all the dark parts of the screen properly. Horizontally it's fine, but vertically can be a little frustrating when you are vewing anything dark.

Stevie Ray Vaughan 4 Disc Set - 3 Audio CD's, one DVD of a concert in Austin, Texas.

I've got a poster on the way, too. It'll eventually get posted.

So... do you think sony is going to want to buy the name from you?
Sounds like a damn plan to me. Obviously Jordan's dad has taught him about taking great opportunities. But then again, they've probably had their domain name for years now.

You have fine taste! I had the immense pleasure of seeing SRV perform live for a taping of Austin City Limits, and it was easily one of the most unforgettable musical performances I've ever heard in my life, and I've heard quite a few incredible performances over the years. 👍

Tragically, the circumstances involving the recent death of Colin McRae only reminded me of how SRV lost his life.

If you haven't already I strongly recommend you see a live performance of Kenny Wayne Shepherd. In so many ways he reminds me of SRV, and like SRV he is an incredibly gifted guitar player, and deserves to be right up there with the all-time greats. 👍

We think alike - One of the first things I thought about when I heard about McRae was SRV.
Unfortunately, I'm a little too young to have gone to any of his performances before he passed away (I would have been three, IIRC). I greatly envy you for going. But Kenny Wayne Shepard is on 'the list', and I'll hopefully see him if he ever comes around.

SRV is my favorite musician of all time, by far. I've got more than a few albums of his, but I keep finding more. Complete discography, here I come!
