I lost one glove while moving house so I bought a new pair today and took comparison pictures: several years vs several hours.

The were so comfortable the first time I just bought the same pair. Great quality for budget mitts.

After 8 years of nightly service, my slim PS3 gave up the ghost. I host every night and I'm waiting for GT7, if it ever comes out, so I got a brand new used fatty to fill in for the time being. It was $90 at Game Stop, and I paid another $10 for an extended warranty, 'cause god only knows how old it is.

It works great, and is much quieter than the slim, but man it is really heavy and barely fits where my other one was.

I can't really tell but it looks like there is very little ventilation for your new PS3 there. The fat systems are prone to overheating if they don't have sufficient cooling so you may want to try to find a more open place for your system or you will probably be testing that warranty out.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my build thread, especially @TwinTurbo LM, @neema_t, and @Danoff who all helped me wrap my head around some things I was having trouble understanding and helped refine the parts list. Sorry for no shots of the building process but I wanted to focus more on not screwing it up than documenting the process.

Those who looked over the parts list I called my "final draft" will notice that I made some last minute changes. I changed to this case because I decided that if I put it together properly, I'd like to be able to show off all of the work that went into it. I changed motherboards for potential SLI support in the future and because I didn't like the stupid red lights on the one I thought I would end up with. I much prefer stupid white lights. Finally, I added the extra Fractal Design fan since this case has one less fan than the Nanoxia one I was eyeing, and the LED ones because I wanted some stupid green lights. Finally, I went for a DVI-D cable instead of a DisplayPort cable just because I was having trouble finding one that actually supports 144Hz; there were lots of mixed reviews.

But anyway, the build went pretty smoothly once I learned my way around the case. The only hard part was installing the CPU cooler, which was an absolute nightmare. I wanted to put it on after installing the motherboard, but I had so much difficulty that I ended up taking it back out in order to get the cooler on. Everything else went relatively easily. Now to see how many days I go before I start overclocking the CPU. :D

Also, the monitor is great, and the keyboard is even better. MX Browns are so much better than Reds.

And now that I have a computer again, I can show off the two purchases I made before buying all of this:

_DSC3102.jpg

Sony/Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35 F/4. I love it. Buying a zoom wide/ultrawide was great as getting used to ultrawide angles is a lot easier when you can zoom in and out to compare. It's been so long since I used a zoom lens I kept forgetting that it was even possible. The lens is crazy sharp and the stabilization works really well. If Sony/Zeiss makes an F/2.8 version in the future I may not see the need to upgrade, because this is so good.

Finally, I bought a second Couch camera strap literally the same night that I posted about buying the last one:

(Not my photo)

I was looking for an image of the last one and saw this one for sale. It reminds me of Gulf liveries and matches the black/orange/blue of my A7. Plus they only made six of them, so I had to buy it.

I'm running out of cameras to buy straps for, maybe I should buy some more. :D

I've been working alone lately and since I didn't have a radio I was stuck using headphones that get in the way and become uncomfortable after awhile. For some reason it just now clicked into my head that there is a decent sized thrift store not far from me and they might have a cheap radio that can tide me over until I can afford a nice jobsite radio (the one I want is $120).

So behold, the super expensive, high end, $7 thrift shop radio!

IMG_0053[1].JPG

I had to search through the other radio's just to find a power cord, but I obviously did (scavenged it from a Hello Kitty unit). This radio also has an Aux. port which is quite the bonus as I like to stream music. The sound quality isn't that great and it doesn't get much for reception, but for $7 you won't hear any real complaints from me.

My parents also gifted me a 20€ Steam gift card, and with it I bought this masterpiece (it may not count as a "purchase" but whatever):

Added 3 nights in New Orleans prior to my 3 days in Austin for COTA.
To help out a friend go, I used my points through work and booked our group a flight to N.O. instead of the 7-8 hours drive. But, 7:20AM departure, 8AM return.

Had a choice between AA, Delta, & United.... :P

Delta will give you up to $10,000 to give up your seat.

Go with therm next time.

New Pea coat.

21915.jpg

To replace the one I had for 15 years. And in those 15 years the quality sure has diminished. My old coat weighs almost 4 kilo. And is made of considerably thicker wool.

This one barely touches 2 kilo. Which is of course absolute horse manure. But since all brands I've checked are the same, this will have to do.

And.

BI-TURBO_15W-40_-_5L__30472.jpg

6 liters for the Pickup.

Edit.

I'm sending that ****** coat back. What a piece of poo. Itchy as hell and nowhere near as warm as my old coat. I'm using the refund to repair it.

Bought a plastic bin to store nearly three years of various magazines I purchased. No pics, nothing special.

Bought it for one reason, needed to begin making room for my share of the parts for the gaming computer I mentioned building a few times already.

Doesn't look bad, but I feel that a Ryzen R5 would give you much more bang for buck than a locked i5.

I actually was eyeing a Ryzen 5 for a while. (I'm mentioning this in the writeup of it I'm doing on PCPartPicker)

What stopped me was my thought process: unlocked chip?--->OVERCLOCK TO HELL--->full liquid cooling circuit--->bye-bye budget (pretty strict $1500 w/$50 overrun)

If it was my personal build, I'd have done it. It's not for me, however. Will mention all this in the build sheet I'm including with it (heck, I already did a few rudimentary sketches of a liquid setup), leaving it up to the guy who's receiving this when it's built.

Even without overlocking, the 1500X would still be better value for money though -
