So, I decided I'm too lazy to just keep switching my Xbox controller from the console to the PC and viceversa, so I went and bought a dedicated PC controller.
After some research I settled on this brand, as it was cheap and available, and my first impressions are quite positive: It's smaller and lighter than the regular Xbox Series X/S controller but the build quality is close to OEM specs. It has hall-effect joysticks, so drift won't be a future problem, and right from the start they feel more responsive, as tested in FH5/FM (where I use simulation steering input).
Other pluses are the recharge base that also houses the detachable 2.4G wireless dongle (thus acting as a docking station to the PC!), and configuration/updates via software.
One downside is that the rumble is weaker and a bit uneven, but so far, it's not a dealbreaker for me. It does not have headset connection, again not a problem because I connect that directly to PC. As for the wireless connection I don't feel a noticeable lag input, and I can always opt to connect through cable.
BTW, the mattress under the box is also new, right for my old bones to rest.
