Show off your PC

i like this. nice.

i do mostly car racing myself and currently run a ps3. but im desperate to have a pc now so i can go to the next level with my F1 rig and t500rs wheel combo.

im not very tech headed and outside of the realms of using paint shop and word, im uslesss with a computer.
i want triple screens. do i need to use eyefinity hardware for that.. or does your graphics card take care of that..?
sorry if that seems like a stupid question..
im really farely clueless.
cheers

As long as you have a modern graphics card it's all done on the card, you just plug all 3 monitors in to it.

Can't believe it took me so long to realize this thread existed...

I don't have any pictures of my desktop at the moment, but I'll be sure to rectify that in the near future.

For now though... specs!

^ With the state of my finances these days, I'm beginning to wish I had spared some expenses. But oh well... it'll be awesome forever, right?

It technically belongs to my employer for the next two years, at which point I'll get a new work rig, and will be able to keep this one for myself :)

64gb? Why would you ever need that much and how much did that cost lol

64GB would be quite useful in editing type scenarios or content creation (CAD etc.), but often it's just more for bragging rights more than anything else, since it has been proven that even for 4k Editing, you're not seeing any gains in terms of editing/rendering speed above 32GB.

Considering that he uses the old X79 chipset, he uses DDR3 modules, and a decent kit isn't as expensive as you might think, but to say it's cheap would be understating it

BTT:

CPU: Intel i5 4690k @ 4.4GHz (max. achieveable OC is 4.7GHz, but it'll require 1.35V, which definitely isn't a 24/7 OC)
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
MB: Gigabyte Z97X-SOC
RAM: 16GB Crucial Balistix Tactical
GPU: EVGA GTX960 SSC (to be replaced by a 980 very soon)
PSU: Corsair RM750
SSD: 250GB Samsung 840 EVO
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro
OS: Windows 10 Pro

I don't have any images of my PC right now, but the basic specifications are:

AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5Ghz, nVidia GeForce GTX 750Ti, 8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 RAM, 1TB WD 7200RPM SATA II HDD.

Not spectacular, but not entirely craptastic either.

My first build, used a mini tower so it's a bit of a tight squeeze for some parts but I prefer this look over a case full of air :) Really happy with the performance, I can max out every game I have and hold a solid 60fps

CPU: i5 4690
GPU: Gigabyte GTX970
SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb

MB: Gigabyte H97M
Ram: Kingston hyper x 8gb
Cooling: 3x 120mm case fans + Coolermaster Hyper 103 cpu cooler

I thought I'd post here while my PC is still something worthy of showing off. Also, I need a proper camera.

I love the S340, the moment I saw a picture of one I knew I had to have one in my next build. It's such a clean design and it's got everything I need for a great price.

Slingshot, engaged!

Here's my blank canvas, built from scratch. Aluminium base and frame covered with 3.5mm clear Perspex.
My current PC looks a bit weird sitting in the centre of my sound system (TV/lounge room/racing rig) so building this to balance things out. Not upgrading current PC specs (i7-3770, P8Z68 deluxe gen3, Rog Mars760) for this, purely aesthetic with bonus extra cooling.

Ignore the MB, its old as the hills, just using it as ATX template.

No set plans as yet, making it up as I go. This could end up looking anywhere from AllSpark to Rebel Alliance to 70's muscle car. Any advice or suggestions welcomed.
Will post more pics as it progresses over the next few weeks.

@jimipitbull that's cool, I've had a vague idea for a custom case kicking around in the back of my mind for a while but I think I'm put off actually making it by the fact that my current case is fine and it'd be quite expensive to do properly. I was thinking I might have an OpenBeam aluminium profile chassis and panels made of laser cut Delrin, machined aluminium or maybe even some of that really nice plywood, but I don't have any good ideas for what the design would be.

What about a Death Cube design? Or a giant fluffy dice? What are you doing about ventilation and dust filtering?

Ventilation - 200mm front intake, 200mm rear exhaust, 200mm top exhaust, intake vents on left hand side panel, CPU water cooler with radiator mounted on rear.

Progress so far -

Waiting on some parts now - rgb LEDs, remote control for start/reset etc, but here's some temporary red lighting to see what it'll look like in a week or two

Here's my modest gaming PC, it cost around £800 all in. Nothing special but still very capable, don't mind that stock CPU cooler though as I'll be replacing it (and cleaning out all the dust!) soon.

Why not DIY?

A few swapped out (better) parts in a bigger case with more airflow, better CPU cooling, a full modular Gold rated PSU, highly overclockable, and with faster memory, and not forgetting that these parts all look much nicer internally. if you're spending £1200 already, you might aswell make it £1472 :D

That was already £70 over budget and having to use savings money. Thats why. I wasn't expecting an I7 and a 1070 for that price.

Adding £200 is not possible.
