sick of no good cheats

I disagree, online isn't full of cheats. Near the release of the game, my friends and I headed online to have a few battles. We all had mics, and agreed to race as cleanly as possible. Right after we started, it was paint swapping all the way. However on our ends, the other players appeared very aggressive and were always seemingly trying to ram you off. I think it's just the game failing, when it can't access the best connection, instead of lagging it makes it appear as if the player is trying to ram you off. I swear this game makes anybody look aggressive online.

I think you just have to know how to handle it, some people do take the p###.
But there are some good racers out there that do fight clean, and swapping paint is all about the fun any way.

If two guys are fighting for a line and one goes off then that's OK, you were both fighting for it and both knew what could happen and i like that i also like people on my bumper too putting pressure on makes it more exciting.

But when people just ram you off and then hold you up trying to stay in front off you it takes the p### especially when there is some good action up at the front off the pack.

Maybe this is just in my opinion, but if we set Time Trial instead Race, and chose more laps like 7 or more. So in this way we could still avoid accidents and paint trades. But the times could determine the best player. BEST TIME = BEST PLAYER not the one who luckily escaped crash. During longer race there is much more opportunities to take gaps between us. For example if i want to set a fast lap then i will slow down and make for my self some space between MY self and other players so in this way there is no way some one could interrupt my driving. I'll hope you get my idea.

But there is still an good idea to set up a group of clean racers! count me in.

good idea darkos 👍 aside from the rammers online, i think theres the issue of shifts online collision physics

ive had regular races with a group whose intentions are clean, but we've been plagued with collisions that only
the one who's getting hit can feel

the one who's made the pass has felt nothing and so thinks its a clean pass

i didnt even know that shift allowed collisions off in online tt mode

some great 10 lappers to be had in this way imo :D

Most of the races that I've had online recently have only had 2 to 4 cars in the race so there wasn't much paint swapping going on.

The only wrecks I have had with the guys here were because niether driver could look left or right. That IS a real drawback, and makes a clean pass difficult. For instance, if the guy in front of me takes a turn wide and I duck inside him I never know if he can see me or not! The mics may help in that case.

Time Trial mode is fun, and I've had some good races online with it, but it's not really racing in the classic sense. Like THE HOG said having a guy riding your bumper waiting for you to make a mistake is part of the excitement. And the luck of avoiding the crashes is and always will be part of racing.

By the way... Is everyone using Pro handling mode? I use Pro with no assists.

yeah of course, proper racing is great if the online code is ok 👍

That is a good idea.

Anyone out there using a steering wheel ?.

All I'm saying is the Time Attack mode online is great because it means no lag, however a race involving more cars just makes it look like an online destruction derby.

And yes I'm using a G25, not that I actually play NFS CRAP anymore.

Well, three of guys from this forum (with a fourth joining later), managed to have five or six, 8-lap races with no lag problems that I'm aware of, or any ramming watsoever. Two drivers were from the UK, one from Canada and one from the US. A couple of "racing incidents" were as close as we came to destruction derby. :)

My only regret is that our cars were not as evenly matched in each race as I would've liked so we tended to spread out too much based on car performance. Next time maybe I'll try Manufacturer races. 💡

If we could set up a race league or something of that nature, I'd start playing Shift again.

Well, I enjoyed setting up & hosting the race today. If people were interested I'd be glad to set up a weekly or bi-weekly series of online races.

I'd be glad to hear suggestions on how this would best be done.

Yea it was fun, i would be willing to host a few on top of yours Manny so there will be more race meets, and i could think of a way of hosting some competitions and stuff maybe a few cruises.:)

And sorry if i held any one up tonight i forgot to put the shorter final drive on my Audi R8, it was so frustrating because it was so slow and i couldn't for the life of me work out why.:indiff::ill:
And if that weren't bad enuff my friend had been playing with the setting's on my steering wheel and he put my accelerator pedal sensitivity up to 95% as soon as i lightly pressed the throttle my Zonda R just did a 360:scared:.

But its all sorted now :).

Great idea, you can count me in. I'd love to race with everyone but the time difference may be a problem. :)

Believe it or not I've thought about this! :) If we race on Saturdays, like 5:00pm US East Coast Time, it'll be 10:00pm in the UK, and I believe 9:00 am Sunday in NSW. If you could get yourself around a couple of cups of coffee by that time, you'd probably be fresher than the rest of us!

Those times are right Manny. Sunday morning is OK for me, but all depends on how hard Saturday night was. May be still hung over. :ill:

I am also on eastern standard time, so the suggested times work well for me. just a thought, if enough people are interested how about some team racing, if enough people show up we could have 2 or 3 private lobbies going:)

Sounds good mate.

I sent him a friend request but he didn't get back to me.

Yea me too and i give him mine.

And maybe we could have a list of all the people's user names that wont to get involved and were they live.
So that if there is no one available to race in other countries because of the time difference we can have a look at the list and race people in our own countries were the time is the same.

This sounds good, I could do most Saturdays. I'm in the UK and my PSN is GTP_DGiant2000

I think I could do some Saturdays. I sorry I couldn't join in yesterday but I was watching my Jets beat the Colts.
