Heh my cuz just bought an S-13 with an rb-20 in it, it also has "Buddy Club" suspension, the thing's sweet.

No pics yet.......

Soon my pretty's yeahahahaahah...........

first of all, there are no hyphens in s13. and rb20det. (they messed that up in that damn intial d crap).

2nd, that engine swap would be pointless if he had a jdm silvia, cause that would mean he currently has a red/blacktop sr20det producing almost idential tourqe/hp specs with 2 less cylinders (less weight)

the usdm engine is plenty good enough for drag, and drifting.

ka24de(t) power all the way.

there ya go. nice hp, the weight distributions gonna be off though.

I personally don't like the look of the Sil-80, I just think the silvia front looks better on the silvia body. (I love sil-1580's though mmm spoogetastic haha)

as for the rb20det swap...I could be wrong (probably)..but I think those early model 180sx's like the one in the picture came with ca18det engines so I would rather have the rb20 than the ca18..hence the swap. Though I would rather have an rb25det or an sr20det...since I know nothing about the rb20det hehe.

youre my kinda guy ethix.

you are right about the earilier verison of the s13 comming with the ca18det, and how the pictures i posted was the ca18 powered car.

but here in the u.s. we never got the ca18det engine*. during 1989-90 the s13 was powered by the ca18det and they made a transition to the sr20det from 1991 and later....BUT, here in america, 1989-90 our silvias and 180 (all referred to as 240sx's) had a single overhead cam engine called the ka24e and from 91 and later we upgraded and got a dual overhead cam version called the ka24de.

the pictures above were from america (if you look you can see that it is left hand drive) and there fore had the non-turbo sohc engine causeing the owner to swap. and in my opinon from working on silvias, i dislike like the engine

**side note- the ca18det DID enter america but not inside a rwd 240sx (silvia a.k.a. s13,14) but in the 200sx (b series chassis)

I agree, RB25DET weighs about 80 lbs more than the SR20DET and produces I think about 50hp more? And quite a bit more torque too.
