Simagic alpha -> Front, bottom or bracket mounting ?

Hi,

I just made a black friday purchase of Trakracer TR160 and Alpha Ultimate (my first direct drive), with both the TR One wheel deck and TR one direct drive mount. I got a suggestion from trakracer mount it with TR One wheel deck, but on the other hand I've seen people use direct drive mount on youtube and got the impression it wouldn't matter what to use. I've also seen people use the Simagic mounting Brackets with the wheelbase and wheel deck.

So my question is what is the optimal mounting for the Alpha ultimate, is there any mounting option that is more optimal or a mounting option that could cause harm to the wheelbase in a long run?

For example can the bottom of the wheelbase heat up if its mounted on the wheel deck, or can the wheelbase get too much tension if it's mounted on the direct drive front mounting plate, for me it seems a little too much to have 10kg hanging in the air with only 4 short bolts ?
Im currently looking to mount it from the bottom to the wheel deck the problem I see with this option is that the wheel raises a little too much maybe and on the other hand the pillars are much lower so I lose feet space.

My second thought would be to use the Brackets so the bottom wouldn't heat up (if this is even a problem ?) I think I have the same tilt adjustment possibility with the TR160?

So my mounting options are;

1. TR One Wheel deck (straight to the wheel plate)

2. TR One Direct Drive mount

3. TR One wheel deck and use Simagic mounting brackets to lift it up.

What way would you mount the alpha ultimate and why ?

I would choose #2 because of optics and all mounting options should be more than stable enough for "normal" operations

1: wheel deck is below the wheel base
3: tries to emulate #2 by using more parts and combining it with #1

Thank for your time to reply. Im a little hesitant with the front mounting, I know its a standard, but my brain says it cant be a good idea to mount a 10kg wheelbase with only 4 screws from one end, without any additional support in the middle or end section of the wheelbase.

It just feels like there will be a lot of tension to the front side and the four sides of the wheelbase, also the screws in every mounting video looks to be only like 2.5cm long.

You don’t have anything to worry about with front mounting, it’s a very common (if not preferred) solution within the sim racing community. While my Alpha Mini isn’t quite as heavy as the Ultimate, it feels very, very secure with the front mount on my Next Level Racing rig.

Thanks, just a little worried since the wheelbase is so long and heavy, that the small screws will actually hold it in place.
