Well, I'll tell a little bit about it before I show some pictures.
It's a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi. It's got AWD and a 5-speed. It's a triple black car (black w/ black exterior, black leather inside), with 178,000KM. I bought it off the original owner three weeks ago. It's bone-stock, and I have no immediate plans to do anything major, other than clean the car up and detail it thoroughly. I haven't found any rust (This car came from Alberta eight years ago, hence the bra on the front of the car to protect against rockchips, although I think it was added as an afterthought), and it's got original paint. The car's not perfect, it's got quite a few rockchips on the front of the car, a few door dings, and a very small (fist-sized) dent on the drivers door, which I think I can pull out.
I wasn't originally planning on getting a Talon, but my stepmom saw the car, and notified me. I drove down and looked at it with my dad, and took it for a test drive. I put an offer in later that evening, knowing that there was someone else looking at the car the next day, and he (An older guy, probably about 50 or 55 years old) accepted it.
I took pictures a couple weeks ago, but haven't had time to resize them and post 'em until now. I think I might take more today or tomorrow.

Some sort of...mystery person.

Triple black? Ummm, how could a "black" car have anything but a black exterior? Methinks you're double dipping on that one...

Just kidding; it's really very nice. It looks clean and straight, particularly for its age. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Take care of it and get it checked by a good Mitsu mechanic - I know that model is vulnerable to crank walk, but I don't know if there are any symptoms leading up to it.

hey, thats a nice car! you also got a nice lisence plate! "Beautiful British Columbia" I'm from Vancouver BTW, so its nice to see another BC man 👍

Well... I spose you could be right about the color. The body's upper half is usually black (above the windowline), with a seperate color for the rest of the body. Plus Triple Black sounds cooler....

The earlier 1G (1990-94)motor was much less prone to crankwalk then the 2G motor (1995 and up). It is close to unheard of in the 1G's.

And yes, that blue print on the liscense plate is a great thing! It brings curvy roads and regulated insurance!

Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks, guys.
It's great fun to drive, except when I go to the gas station. It gets half-decent mileage when I drive sensibly, but it takes 91 octane fuel. I want to try 94 next time I fill up plus a bottle of octane booster, to see if it has any effect on the power (Sometimes feels like it's down on power, making me think that I'm buying really crappy 91 octane and the knock sensor is backing off the timing on me).

Not bad, its not a Honda, but it'll do. 👍

How does it compare to the last car? Any likes or dislikes about the car so far?

Maybe When you go 94 plus octane booster you may want to reset the ECU, I don't know about Talons but with Skylines (and many other Nissans) when the ECU retards timing due to knocking it stays retarded until the ECU is reset, then it finds the sweet spot again (this time with the good fuel :)).

Yeah... I know it's not a Honda.... But the S2K (The only Honda I'd seriously consider) is a little out of my price range.

My last car was my parents' car, a '95 Neon sedan with the famed Slushbox. Needless to say, there is hardly a similarity between the two.

The only thing I don't like about it so far is that it is a fairly long-throw shifter, and I've got to watch second gear (A little notchy).

And Viper, not a bad idea about setting the ECU, though I'll try just putting good gas in first.

No worries, it'll eventually come off. The front is quite pitted and chipped from winter driving (gravel mix on roads), so I'm going to wait until I have a day to touch up and polish the hell out of the front end.

Great car man! Congrads! Mind telling us what you paid?

One piece of advice: keep an eye on the transfer case... it may lock...

It will suffice to say that I paid more than $3500 but less than $5000.

I've heard about the transfer case problems (or... potential problems), but it performs fine right now.

OK, I got a few new pics.

Jim, you've had your way. Bra is off, and it's better than I expected. Slightly sandblasted, and one little 1''x1'' peice of missing paint, and a couple rockchips. Other than that, not bad at all. The couple pics I did get didn't turn out as I hoped, but I'll post 'em when I take 'em.

Looks pretty good! Just please, please, please don't go all rice burner on it. There's no need for a 6" round pipe hanging out of the back end. Oh, and don't mess with the recirculating valve to make it louder unless you want it to idle like complete crap.

No worries about me becoming a ricer. I am practically the anti-rice, and generally hate most ricers.
The only thing I'm even thinking of doing is getting a K&N Filter and taking the silencer out of the intake while I'm at it. The rest is maintenence. I've already done the timing belt/tensioners/waterpump, changed the transmission and transfer case oils, and installed a new headunit for the stereo (Old CD player is deceased) and a Sirius satellite unit. I need to do a front right CV boot, and then I should be good to go for a while, save for minor cosmetic touch-ups.

This car is more or less an in-between car until find what I really want, so I'm going to keep this one very close to stock.

Great car. The last pic update looks as if you took 5 hours to walk around the the front of the car. The back is bright, and by then time you get to the front, the picture is really dark.

Nah, I did it all in about 5 minutes. I was just using different settings on my camera. The brighter pics were with a high-ISO setting, and in the full-size pics there is a bit of noise in the picture that can be made out, whereas the last pic was simply using a longer shutter time and decreased sensitivity.

Lots more pics!!
I detailed my car, gave it a thorough wash and sprayed the tires, etc. In lieu of full-size pictures, I've decided to go with thumbnails to make faster loading times. These are all un-edited, save for a simple resize.

Also, how do I change the title of the thread? I don't see it under the 'Thread Tools' menu.

Edit - Thanks to PERFECT BALANCE for the tip on the thread title.

Suprised the Paint is in good condition. The ones i've seen have around here the paint is doing the usual "peel" on the hood, roof and hatch.

I like to get one of those, but in AWD/Automatic Form but i can never find one that's in good condition, they usually require too much work for me to do at the current time

Looking Good
