I was using a fully upgraded Lister Storm today on Red Rock Valley. The first lap passes by, and soon I found myself on the straight away leading to the start/finish line. I decided to tailgate the racecar in front of me, and I was going much faster than I would have expected. I finished the second lap in the lead with a top speed of 209 miles per hour. I made no mistakes the third lap, and I found myself widening the gap between me and the AI racers. Before I started braking in order to take the first corner, I took a look at the speedometer. The Storm didn't even reach 190 miles per hour. If this is not slipstreaming, then what is it?
Moderators, if you have seen this before, I apologize, but I used the search bar before typing this.

Yep, that is slipstreaming for you. Although if there's one game you'd expect to have this feature it would be GT2; however the same goes for each entry to the series. Maybe it wouldn't matter so much to some people but if I was following a car closely in a game at high speed and I wasn't gaining, that wouldn't seem right to me. In fact I've noticed this a few times in Need for Speed games. Was there some rumor floating around that this feature hadn't been included in GT2? Because I haven't heard such a thing to be fair.

Slipstreaming/drafting is indeed possible. I got to 267 mph in a Drag 180SX drafting another. It's not strange.

The reason I posted this thread was because I have seen people around here at GTPlanet say that slipstreaming was included until Gran Turismo 4.

I've seen it happen myself when I was grinding Tuned Turbo @ Test Course with my Unisia GT-R (stupid, I know. You had to get the R33 Drag for it to be worth it). Depending on the grid and the start I got, I would sometimes find myself behind the 180SX Drag as I entered the backstretch. On those laps I would find myself doing about 230mph, rather than the 224 I'd usually be doing by the end of the straight.

Let's just say it wasn't in GT2, don't you think they would've put it in GT3 with all of the realness they put it in GT3? Right? Heck, slipstream is in GT1!
