SS1: I'd say it's good to be back, but Alsace is probably my most disliked of the rallies in this game (though Sweden also makes a good case for itself). The first stage was largely uneventful, right up until the end when I scared the pants off the spectators at the top of that hill.
SS2: The following excerpt was taken from the Scooby Guide to SLRE Pacenotes: "Be aware that any corner combined with the tighten call (ex: six left tighten) is likely to result in death, broken cars, and/or annoyed service mechanics."
SS3-SS5: Not much happened here really, took it very cautiously which can make for some tense driving, but isn't very quick or exciting. At least I'm keeping the car in one piece.
SS6: Why is it that every time I admit it's going well disaster strikes!? Two corners in I decide to press the clutch button, except this isn't Dirt Rally and that's no clutch button, it's the rewind. And I was going to need that later... Later being an argument with a tree. I didn't think it belonged there, and it thought it did... Yeah the tree won that one. So now I'm down on power, and one of the wheels was starting to get commitment issues. This plus a questionable cornering attempt lead to a second visit to the trees. Now the gearbox had a concussion and the handling got even worse. Still, can't get much worse can it? *Crash* x2. Yeah that was pretty much the end of any hope I had left. In the end the turbo quit, gear changes had to be requested by fax they were that slow, the front end of the car had taken up it's new identity as a wood elf and left, and the rest of the running gear was probably ready to sue for divorce. Yay me.
SS7-SS8: Back to slow and carefull(ish).
Sorry it took a while. I planned on putting in the replays as usual, but OBS and SLRE's inability to keep a consistent framerate don't play nice. Didn't find that out until I got to editing.
