2017!! Heres to another year of great friendship and racing together. Lets start the FIRST night of 2017 fresh and new and make it our SNAIL New Years resolution to race the best we can without the extraness that was in late 2016.

What a freaking pleasure to find out that we will be racing side by side! Take it easy on me, to say that I'm rusty is an overstatement!
 
I can do data and be a backup replay uploader. I can do scoring if need be, but I'd prefer if someone else did.

There is. Me or SCHMEDRACER will make a room in a few minutes. Watch for it in the club lobby.
 
Update to the penalties from the recent past after January 1, 2017 Race night:

With reference to this post the following:

@MikeGrove - 75 pts. over the next three weeks (25 pts. per night) that he races and a one week suspension which will be enforced on 12/11/16.

  • Mike has served his suspension on Dec 11, but has subsequently received another suspension. That was served on Dec 18
  • He served his first 25 pts penalty on January 1
  • He therefore still has to serve two more 25 pts. penalties

@lllTrick - 75 pts. over the next three weeks (25 pts. per night) that he races.

  • Trick has served his first 25 pts penalty on Dec 11.
  • He has since received a one night suspension and he served that on Dec 18
  • He served his second 25 pts penalty on January 1
  • He still has to serve one more 25 pts penalty.

@Ph1sher - 50 pts. over the next three weeks (17, 17, and 16 pts.) that he races.

  • Ph1sh has served his first 17 point penalty on Dec 11
  • He was unable to race on Dec 18, so the 17 and 16 point penalties will carry forward to his first two races he returns
  • He has served his second 17 pts penalty on January 1
  • He still has to serve one more 16 pts penalty.

@src_ej6 - 45 pts. spread over the next three (15 pts. per night) weeks that he races.

  • Src has served his first penalty of 15 points on Dec 11 and his second penalty of 15 points on Dec 18 and his third penalty of 15 points on January 1
  • He has therefore cleared all his penalties

To my fellow SNAILS in D1

I want to open this conversation by stating that competing individuals do not need to be best buddies as long as they respect each other and compete fairly within the rules set out in the events in which they compete – whether you are a football player, hockey player, a real or virtual race driver. It is obviously a nicer atmosphere when we can be friends, but if we are not BFFs, then at least show respect with your driving habits and language.

In the last month or so, we had some very disappointing incidents of disrespect and disregard of the rules of good conduct for online participation. It was not only the expected conduct from a SNAIL perspective, but also from what is expected by the Play Station Network.

Therefore, I am asking the D1 team to bury the hatches and compete in a respectful way with your friends and rivals.

The second issue that I want to talk about is racing incidents – they happen. We never want them to be deliberate. We are not professional drivers, so one would expect a few more bumps than you would get in the professional world outside. We have the Incident Reporting system to take care of that. If we apply that appropriately, it will help all of us to increase awareness, cutting the edge off some of the aggressive passing/defending attempts and promote an overall improved experience for all participants. IRs should not be entered out of anger, it should be seen as a learning opportunity and to confirm the standard under which we compete.

Deliberate incidents must not be tolerated and drivers that are making themselves guilty of such conduct must be suspended, put on LCL and/or banned. If you want to kill people, go and play Call of Duty or something else.

The third issue I want to raise is a call on all of you to tune down the aggressive driving in the practice lobbies when we have drivers off all divisions present. I have seen numerous times how these guys are being pushed out of the way because we want to defend more against the D1 guy behind us, rather than paying respect to the slower guy ahead of us. Use this as an opportunity to practice to pass clean AND to defend clean.

I don’t think my request is unreasonable, so let’s reset our attitudes, egos and grudges and do the right thing.

I will not make it back in time for tonight's racing. Maybe the last Combo only.

Score keeper: The only penalty still to be served is the 25 points for @MikeGrove. So, if he shows up tonight, everything will be fair and square again from next week forward.

I hope the atmosphere will be more pleasant tonight and that you all will race hard and clean.

@msgt-sd , I see the Data for Jan 1 is still missing. If you are busy, I wonder if @turnupdaheat or one of the other guys may volunteer to help you out.
