Sorry for the heads up guys but was fixing my racing equipment so was not ready to race last night.

I will start my campaign in the new year with you all.

Cheers and a happy new year !

Could not find the room last night, used posted room I.D. to no avail. Anybody else having issues with the room?
I'm sorry you couldn't find the room last night. I double checked the posted room ID and it was correct.
I don't think anyone else had an issue finding the room.
Send me a friend request (nog3861) so next week you can filter rooms by friends and find it that way.

@jerseyjoeaw Couldn’t see the room using the room # or by searching for rooms with friends. I believe he restarted his PS4 and then he was able to join.

Not with this league but another I run we had a similar issue Saturday night where a driver had to reboot his ps4 to be able to race

I encountered the room not being listed last season and it was because the host was not shown as "online". Had to search by track to find it. Last night, after the races were over, got booted from the lobby when the host left and received an 'elvis has left the building' error message.

Back when I use to host, I had a set procedure I would perform prior to opening the room (10-15 minutes). If I deviated or rushed this procedure, funky things happened.

Thought there was something in the OLR about what to do prior to opening the room, but cannot locate it (can't find it via the FUD either). So maybe it isn't as common knowledge as I thought. So here goes: roughly 30-40 minutes before the room is to open, I turn off the PS4 and reboot my router/modem. Once it is up and stable, start the PS4 and run the internet test on the PS4 (via the XMB). When the result is NAT 2 I know I did it correctly.

Going through the entire reset is a good idea. Additionally with GTS, opening a new room will move it to the top of the que when searching rooms. Hosts on Sunday night should always open a room and not just change the name of an existing room.

I know I cant speak for everyone but iv never had a problem finding a room or connection problem guess iv been lucky but jam champ nog and the 1 off events have always been right there with room numbers and ect. That's posted in the main thread

The only time I haven't been able to find a room by number has been a result of me going all fat finger when entering the room number. I try again and verify the number and it's there. That could be because I am almost always just turning on the PS4 and looking for the room.

Yes @JamCar0ne you assisted me last month with the issue of me being shown as offline, some setting that I may or may not had previously set (prior to joining Snail) inadvertently.
Regarding last night I think I may now know what MIGHT have happened and why Col Klink couldn’t find the room.
I had been practicing throughout the week in lobbies with the proper settings, however, the only thing I changed was the setting for the room which indicates Public or friends only. I really hate ransoms joining my rooms when I’m trying to concentrate and focus on practice so I changed the setting to friends only.
Seeing as how Col Klink is not on my friends list could be the explanation as to why he couldn’t find the room.
Totally my fault, my error and I own it. If the BOD finds the need to penalize me in some fashion, so be it. I own up to my mistakes.
Regarding the comment about Elvis has left the building, I have no idea about that. Did that message appear after I vacated the room?
I don’t know, all I can do is apologize to Col Klink for his missing last night, learn from this mistake and move on.
So sorry to all of my Division 4 drivers and friends. My error.

And what is NAT2???? What does that mean and why is it significant? My PS4 is hard wired and pulling down 100+ mbs and upload 20+.
I will also take your advice about the pre host procedures as you have way more knowledge than I do about this stuff.

NAT is short for Network Address Translation. Its purpose is to do just what it says, translate a network address. For instance, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) assigns you a static IP. This becomes the address of your modem. Typically your modem feeds a router and each of your devices (computers, console, etc.) are connected to this router. Each output of the router has its own network address which means each device will have their own network address. Oh, and to keep things simple, no two devices can have the same network address.

For example, lets say your static IP assigned to you by your ISP is 209.145.153.206 (completely made up number). This will be your network address on the internet, known as a public IP. Much like your house number is your address on your street.

Your router is plugged into the modem and essentially splits your address up so multiple devices can use it without interfering with one another. Because of the router, each device connected to it will have its own unique (Private IP) address such as 192.168.1.100 and another may have 192.168.1.104. Much like an apartment complex allows multiple apartments to share the same address using the mailman as the router so to speak.
Oh, and all the numbers from the router will be different from the numbers of the modem. That's just the way it is.

NAT TYPES:

There are three NAT types. 1, 2 and 3.

Basic definitions:

NAT 1 - console is connected directly to the Internet with a public IP address (such as directly into modem). This setup does not require port forwarding and is used in rare cases where the console is the ONLY device wanting to use the Internet connection. Not very common as most users share their Internet connection with other devices in their home.
NAT 2 - console is sitting behind a Router performing Network Address Translation (NAT) from a public IP address to a private IP address. Ports are properly forwarded.
NAT 3 - console is sitting behind a Router performing Network Address Translation from a public IP address to a private IP address. However, a problem exists in the way the console is accessing the Internet. This may be caused by a firewall, port restrictions, incorrect uPnP or auto-login settings.

Edit - you want NAT 1 or 2. NAT 3 is bad

Did everyone see @Nukebanana in the final race of the night? On my screen I showed him leaving the room after race 5 and scored him as such but while I was watching @TexasJDC ’s stream I saw him on grid at the start and finish although my replays didn’t. Either I am having connectivity problems again or Sunday night’s room was cursed.

Data is almost finished but I will need to download someone else’s reply to collect fastest laps.

That is weird there was problems Saturday in another league and then Sunday seems like the same thing I ran into a problem last night aswell

Good thing your stream was available for me to watch. Do we need to start posting how many people in the room before each qualifying session and then again before EACH race? Or per OLR should we be doing that already?

I think we are supposed to and it's no problem to make sure we do it every race better safe than than sorry.....I agree with lean theres been a few problems lately

@Skills you are correct. I should be asking for the driver count prior to qualifying. I will make sure I do that moving forward for each race
