Oh yes that was quite a battle I was trying to save gas and stay in front of you at the same time lol...

I was pushing so hard in my final stint after that. My left knee was getting tired with like 5 min to go, and making more mistakes! I need better conditioning.

Yea I couldn't get out of my chair I sit in front of the TV in I pulled something in my back yesterday and tylenol and icy hot just sort of hid the pain for about 80 mins of the race.

But anyways that race was great with some awesome battles going on till the end

Prize B:
Doesn't exist anymore (details in a post I'll write later tonight)

You can find these nameplates in-game by looking at my activity feed. If it looks like a lot of you are actually using them, the plan is to keep these up to date each season. Now that they're created, keeping them up to date is easy - I just need to add a dot to the left side (Gold/Silver/Bronze for a season podium finish, Black for finishing the season off the podium).

Season 4 Updates

Rolling Start Will Now Be The Default

- The only reason we switched from Rolling Start -> Grid Start in the first place is because Rolling Start was buggy in lobbies (@Neutty I'm guessing your lobby was buggy today because it's a copy (or a copy of a copy) of a lobby we had from before the bug was fixed. If you create one completely from scratch the issues should be resolved)
- Grid Starts may be more exciting, but they also lead to incidental damage that can ruin someone's race - Rolling Starts have been far smoother (when they actually work)

Starting Order Will Be Determined By Qualifier

- The qualifier will be the same format as Sunday SNAIL (one out lap, one hot lap, 5 second intervals, etc.)
- This will give everyone the opportunity to earn the pole each week (and avoid the potential mid-pack chaos)
- This will add about 10 minutes to our race night, so we'll need to do a better job of starting on time (i.e. get to the lobby as early as possible)

Both Divisions Will Drive the Same Car

- Sometimes life gets in the way and the turnout for one division is very low (we've seen as low as two on a couple occasions) - if the other division was in the same car, you'd at least have other drivers to race against
- The drivers at the bottom of D1 and the top of D2 will now be able to directly compete for divisional placement
- It can be difficult to pick two cars that play nicely together - sometimes it looks all good on paper, but it's a disaster on the track
- This means that Prize B no longer exists (the Prize B winner would choose the car for his/her division, but now the car chosen by the Prize A winner will be used by both divisions)

Only Official Drivers Will Be Included in the Standings

- Provisional (non-Official) drivers will be ignored in the race results (e.g. If a Provisional driver finishes first, and an Official driver finishes second, the Official driver will be awarded the 25 points for first place)
- Without this minor change we'd have to figure out what division each Provisional driver would be in if they were Official, that way we could update the standings appropriately - this is confusing and unnecessary given that Provisional drivers are ineligible for prizes and the season championship.

We hope that with these changes that the racing will be closer all around the track for everyone. Please keep that in mind. 2 classes sounds great if we have a full field weekly. Where I would love to see multi-class racing it’s difficult to see Tex run an entire race by himself.

Aw man, I kinda like the different class of cars, but I understand it can cause some issues on track and logistically. Question though: If you're in D2 and you win your class, do you get the full points allocation like before?

Yep, we'll still have two divisions so if you're in D2 you can essentially just ignore the D1 drivers in the race results (and vice versa for D1 drivers).

Agreed the one race that me and TEX did where there was only 2 or 3 of us made for a lonnnng race.

Looking good.

My hosting D-3 Sunday night went well, but I am sorely lacking when it comes to Party Chat, or Texting. So, perhaps someone else would be better.

Sorry I missed last night - really wanted to be there.

What’s the turnout looking like tonight. Who’s all racing for the season opener? Let’s get a headcount

Let's assume all official drivers (13) will show up unless they respond to this thread saying they're out. That should be one of the benefits of having official drivers.

Qualifying Procedure For Tonight

1 - The host will reset the room (you can just toggle the time of day) at 8:55 EST (5 minutes prior to race)
2 - Everyone line up in front of Turn 1
3 - When given the green light by the host, the lead driver starts his out lap (and each subsequent driver will take off at 5 second intervals)
4 - After the out lap, each driver completes a "hot" lap to set their qualifying time
5 - After each hot lap, each driver remains on track (Note - this means the tire compound you qualify on will be the same compound you start the race on)

In other words, this should be identical to the Sunday SNAIL qualifying procedure.

Well I am just having my fingers crossed we don’t split up

My fingers are crossed that we do - because that would mean we're getting more drivers. Although I agree that racing in a room of 8-10 is not as ideal as a full grid.

I will be racing tonight.

Just as a side note, is anyone planning on using the pink pig livery for the Porsche tonight? I was thinking about doing it but know it’s popular ansd I want to avoid the GTS equivalent of showing up at a party in the same dress as another girl :scared:

I'm using my own livery
