So ive decided to buy a cockpit this year.

I would go with the one I got, but in solid black as I'm going to assume you're not a Kyle Bush fan, lol. I posted a link to the one I'm talking about a few posts up.

I couldn't care less about Kyle Busch, NASCAR liveries have just been ass ugly for the past 40 years.

So, you like mostly plain cars because thats mostly what they were back in 1972. One color drab paint jobs. I, and most others, would disagree with your comment. NASCAR paint schemes have come along way and play a huge part in marketing and merchandise sales. Jeff Gordan's Dupont Chromalusion car from ahile back are among one of my favorites. To each their own I guess.

NASCAR paint schemes are kitschy graphics without any elements of great design, made purely to whore the car out to sponsors. In the face of historic liveries like the John Player Special Lotuses, Martini and Rossi/Gulf 917s, Donahue Trans-Am cars, and even most current liveries in other series, they just don't meet up. They do it that way intentionally, but it's not great design.

But as you said, to each their own.

Okay with the crazy fast times going down this year in GT academy, its obvious to me that my setup is not working as well as I would like. I decided i am going to drop the money and go for a full cockpit this fall, and I was wondering what the community thought the best was/ Most comfortable?

Price range would be 400-700 ish.

In addition I was wondering what the really fast guys were using?

Thanks
Stephen

If you really want to buy a full sized cockpit then I suggest going on to www.insidesimracing.tv as they review a very wide range of sim rigs on there, and give them scores out of 10 based on comfort, adjustibility, looks, stability and everything you would want and expect from a rig. After having a look at their reviews then you can make a decision on which rig is for you.

Not worth arguing with you about it. You obviously don't appreciate great graphic designs. And of couse they are rolling billboards, the sport is sponser driven in case you haven't noticed.

lol, there's nothing happening on any car in nascar that is great graphic design.

here's a very rudimentary drawing of how it works

That's ingenious. You've even got a built-in windscreen surround. Do you add any ballast? It looks a bit light. I've got my DFGT on what I think is described as an "occasional table" and I find the legs lifting off the floor sometimes when I do any sudden steering.
