I never said anything about drifting in an industrial part of town, that's just as dangerous as drag racing in the same place. I only mentioned drifting in parking lots.
Also, I know they get permission to use the lot when they have drifting events, but that wasn't my point. My point was just that nobody really cares about rubber left on a parking lot. Yes, technically you could call it vandalism, but that's not really a big issue. I had friends in high school that used to go to parking lots to do donuts and the cops never cared. They were just happy the kids were keeping it off the street.

There are lots of companies/stores that like to look clean, thus like a clean looking parking lot, which is why some people get mad when someone leaves a long dual strip of rubber laid on the pavement...
