Sound drop-outs

Sorry if this topic has been done before, I did a search and couldn't find a thread here.

Just wondering if the playstation 2 will cure the sound drop-outs that happen in GT2?

Actually, in my case, the PS2 is slower when running GT2. It also does even worse things with the sound during the game.
Plus, I have had freeze-ups and all sorts of stuff happen.

When I play on either the Playstation or the PSone, I have none of these problems.

Funny thing is that GT2 is the only PSone game I have problems running in the PS2. All of my other games run fine.
