Does anyone struggle with sound, especially online? You can hardly hear your own engine, firstly for the wind and tyre noise, but mainly because of the other cars. I use 5.1. Is there a better balance?

Have you tried out the audio settings "small cinema" and "big cinema" or something like this? They change the audio balance a lot.

Just adding to what G.T. Ace has already pointed out, use "Small Cinema" for 5.1, using "Big Cinema" is really meant for 7.1 systems and you'll notice the depth of sound has lowered due to the lack of the additional Left and Right Surround channels.
