Anyone else really looking forward to taking 4x4 vehicles up into the mountains?

Hoping rockstar have improved tire traction first... I hated how you can slip down on the most modest of grassy hills in GTA4.

All I know is, I'll do first 1-2 required missions, then I'm spending the next several hours exploring. :dopey: Hopefully we can get into the mountains and don't have to unlock them.

All the previous games have involved unlocking sections of the city through the story. I don't see why that would change.

Guys, check out this amazing comparison between San Andreas last gen and San Andreas this gen a guy made, really awesome:

There's already some speculation on the release date. Found this article:

The trailer has blown everybody away especially the huge base of Grand Theft Auto fans but looking it closely, did Rockstar want to tease us with the title’s eventual release date?

Depending on how much credibility we put in easter eggs, we could say that the GTA 5 release date has been hinted by a small tip in the debut trailer of Grand Theft Auto V.

Although it might be wrong, based on the “hint” alone, the date could be May 24, 2012, as you can see on the screenshot below, the sign saying “For Sale 2405.”

Those in the States might not have caught this as a date because they do them the other way round to what the British do, as the Grand Theft Auto series developed by Rockstar North, a UK company.

So there you go, with not much of details we can get from GTA 5, this info is good enough to make your day as a devoted fan to the franchise.

I was thinking it might be the bloke out of GTA3, but in those comparison shots the noses are quite different.
Not to worried about how they do this game, they always seem amazing to me :)

It most likely won't be any of the characters from GTA3, GTAVC or GTASA, it's been said many times already the main characters won't be reappearing.

Apparently at gtaforums.com someone posted a "hint" about GTA V, where it said "1102" and "204". The 1102 could have ment the day the trailer was shown, November 2nd, and the 204 can mean 204 days after novemvber 2nd, which makes 24th May 2012.
2405 is seen in this trailer on the sidewalk, and there is also a man bashing down a sign where it says "for sale" that you probably know of.

EDIT: I also find this, this video was post on YouTube 31 Oct, and it's the sound track for the trailer and maybe for main theme music. It's named 1102main2405.mp3, the trailer came out on the 2 Nov and in the trailer that other people plus me posted above is the 2405 for the release date.

Makes me think...

The song in that link doesn't seem to have anything to do with the trailer... Also it is very likely that the number on the curb (which is the house number) is simply a nod to the date that the song featured in the trailer was released (may 24th 1968 I believe)

I think it's the loading theme. Kinda sounds like the one from IV but different.

So, a lot of the speculation is pointing towards a May 24 release date. 2405 is 24 of may in the British method, and is conveniently 204 days after the trailer.

Rockstar Games are a British company which would make that date believable but the 24th of May 2012 is a Thursday and most games seems to release on a Tuesday in the US and a Friday in EU (But GT5 was a rare exception being released on a Wednesday in both EU and US... so anything can happen)

Yeah. It may be rare, but it's possible.

It's also possible (significantly moreso IMO) that the number is just a nod to the song in the trailer. Don't you think if R* had a release date in mind they would let us know like they have done with every previous game?

Yes, there is far too many instances of this happening in the video for it to just be a coincidence.

There is the 2405 "for sale", the 1102 204 you mentioned. And the song... And also in the golf scene the board showing the par and everything has numbers that equal 24 05.

Plus its 6 months from now which sounds about right.

I didn't notice the golf thing. Could you grab us an image?

I just tried to find the post so I could link it but I can't seem to find it. It was in the Trailer analysis thread over at gtaforums.com

They have really pulled the trailer apart, check it out 👍
