Hopefully someday we'll get something like this for other regions as well. Maybe not GT5, but hopefully at least for 6.

Still remember the thrill of leaving a mark on the track at the GT5 Asia Online Tournament last year? It’s time to fill your gasoline tank as GT5 Asia Online Tournament is back on PlayStation®Network! Race to the top and fly to Malaysia representing your region to compete with other top racers from Asia in Sepang Circuit Malaysia at Super GT Sepang Grand Prix on 10th Jun 2012! This may earn you awesome amount of PSN voucher and an extra free trip to Tokyo Game Show 2012!

The tournament will be divided into Regional Tournaments, Regional Finals and Asia Final. It is open to Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) members* from Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Some of the tournament prizes will be sent to the participants’ email address or home address registered in their SEN accounts, so don’t forget to ensure the accuracy and validity of your registered information before you enter the competition.

Lucky people!
It would be nice for other regions to have this type of event.
But hey thats life!

To be fair, some of us get GT Academy, while others don't. Poor Australia and Canada seem to be ignored a bit, but at least Australia is getting Bathurst eventually.

For all you guys on the Asian side of the world like me, I just checked, it's live. 👍

Now I'm off to be in 1st. For the first few minutes.

I'm 2nd! :D For the first time ever! :D Out of 2, but whatever.

It's very…easy though. The gold lap time is 3:12.000, but the car they give you does it in 1:40s when you're cruising…a bit like they're not expecting us to be that fast anyways…

Congratulations!Keep going with it.
Is there any special livery on the Calsonic you get or is it the car that is in the game?

Regards

It's the same one as the one in the Dealership…I wish it had a slightly special livery to commemorate your participation, but nope.

Wait a minute.

Does this...

...mean 2012 Super GT rosters in GT5?

Err, how do you figure that? Just because they fly you to the track to race there, doesn't actually mean that they'll bring in the 2012 cars. And I checked the site, the cars you're using are still the '08 cars.

Sepang circuit isn't in GT5. So unless you're competing in a real life track event, they'll have to model this track if it's going to be on GT5.

All of us outside Asia should have our own unofficial competition, running the same car and track combo. I think it would be fun.

I guess they aren't going to model Sepang, at least not from the info they've given. They'll just be at the circuit racing GT5 at Suzuka for the finals.
