Not having fun in Sport mode (online racing). I know that my skills are average but I'm continually getting my a** whipped and winding up in last place (unless I get by some poor soul who has spun out). I pick a "category approved" car - Mother makes the "BOP adjustment" - and when I get onto the straight I can't keep up with anyone - seems like I'm being "unduly penalized" - or there are some hacks that can get you a few more HP or drop some weight - thanks in advance!

If you do a Group 1/2/3/4 race, usually, you'll have a meta car, to see which it is, check the top 10 leaderboard, it should be pretty obvious.

I also suggest you upload a replay of a race with driving data showed under so we can see what assist you use, how you brake and how you press your trigger to accelerate. Seems you have a problem somewhere but it's hard to pinpoint like that. Also a straight dont really mean anything, for example, if you have a very high tcs value and accelerate very late out of the corner, people who dont use aids and are accelerating faster will make you think they are faster while they arent, they just use the grip and the car better. But again without a replay it's hard to be of any help.

It could also be that you just arent that good at GT7, have you done the tracks experience and licences ? What were your average result ?

Hey dude, welcome here, can you give more context about how your practicing your laps and qualifying for daily races in sport mode then we can offer more sound advice.

Also is it a paraticular track your are referring too?
Like Dragon Trail or Red bull which are the current daily race options.
What do you mean by "unduly penalized"? Are you hitting other drivers?

This is the main thing, I think. "Balance of Performance" is just a name for an ideal @Jack08520

I remember doing random rolls for Gr.3 cars and landing on the Skyline Super Silhouette -- immediately turned a top 5 target (Porsche RSR meta) into avoiding last place.

My advice is to not get overly attached to a single car if you are worried about winning or keeping up. You can learn to outdrive the meta in most lobbies that aren't top split, but usually you need to be underrated DR-wise and not be much more than 0.5s off the average single-lap pace. Beyond that, it becomes both a pace and timeloss (battling) problem.
