I couldn't find a thread dedicated to the fun stories or discussion of the daily races so here's one!

In before every comment is about getting punted.

I've been having some good fun in the Gr4 dailies. I have yet to try a Gr3 car I love so I haven't done too many of those. Made a few friends in Sport mode so far.

So on the new Gr.3 nurburgring race is there tire and fuel useage going on along with those 12 laps?

The other day I had some really good racing with my "herbie" Gr.3 beetle.
First race, started second but got knocked down to the bottom the field after some unnecessary scraps. But work my way back up to seventh or so.
Second race started first, won that race easily. (Must've dropped a difficulty level considering the qualifying laps) 84G's because of the 150% clean bonus!
Third race started second, got beat up by one driver along with another guy. I fought the second dude the rest of the race. He raced clean and we fought our way up to second place, changing places probably five times.
The finish was so close it was within .100 of a second. Though he had a 1 sec penalty. Really wish I saved that replay.

Love to see some race moments here! In video too!

Really enjoying the Nurburgring ten lapper :)

Race distance and wear seem really nicely balanced, with my car being good at the start, but terrible at the end (need to work on that).

20 minutes is a perfect race length for me as well, enough time to have a good battle or recover from a mistake!

Never had so many fun, intense and clean battles on any racing game outside of iRacing. Bringing iRacing style clean racing to the masses is brilliant.

Prior to GT Sport, you wouldn't see clean racing in lobbies unless you were in a league.

Also, the dedicated servers for sport mode mean that we can go millimeters next to each other without hitting or lagging. This was not seen in lobbies where it's p2p connection.

Very satisfied.

Just had the worst Gr.4 race on this so far.

Do people not actually use the radar system/track map, mirrors or the look around feature to see who is next to them? Just no spatial awareness at all.

It would have been an awesome race too if people just took that extra bit care and attention to whats happening around them.

Won (and lost from pole) a few N200 with the Mazda and had a few epic battles on Nurb GP. One was especially hot... 10 lap battle vs the top1 Chris93. It was intense!

Happy with my times atm as I'm in the top10 both for the N200 and Gr.3 races. Haven't tried the Gr.4 race yet. I don't have a decent setup for any Gr.4 car. :D

What car are you using? I'll have to see what car I pick when I race later on.

Oh were you in that race too? ;) lol

I started on pole, person kinda squeezes down on the side of long sweeper, I leave space and then I get nudged off into the grass. All downhill from there. Over the next lap or two I went from 1st to 12th, then up a little, then back down again. At that point I just settled for cruising in the back. 11th place person just pulled over and let me drive by lol Ended in.. 10th ish? Total demolition derby.

Most of the races I've done so far have been smooth or easy mistakes. I had a feeling that Kyoto would be rough because so many high speed braking zones.

Had a fun Gr. 4 race where I was in a TT leading a bunch of GTR's. With the TT being FF, I would always lose time in the low-speed corners, but since everyone behind me was fighting for the second position, I managed to keep pace... up until the last corner where one of the GTR's broke away from the pack and divebombed me into the last corner. I had predicted they would divebomb me, so I took the inside line in to the corner, but they went even further toward the inside, cutting into the grass on entry and pushing us both wide. I tried to get a good exit out of the corner, but the TT's front-wheel drive wouldn't have it, allowing the GTR to pull away from me all the way to the finish line.

I was fuming afterwards, because from my point of view they completely cut the corner on entry and recieved no penalty. After looking at the replay, I saw that they had only put two tires into the grass when they went for the move, so I guess it was a fair divebomb. But I'm still mad about that. :banghead:

Not liking the penalty for the 2nd to last corner at Kyoto, the little right left chicane, you run wide on to the grass on the exit and you will get a time penalty everytime.

It's not enough that you lost time from going wide and on the grass you also get a time penalty which seems to take ages to get rid of, took me almost all of the pit straight to get rid of a 4 second time penalty :banghead:

Had a bunch of fun today working out the TT Cup I have. (freshly painted in GT2 era TT LM Edition colors:D)
Going around Kyoto today It seemed like a dog to drive; Understeer everywhere. But slowly I worked the bugs out of that FF car. Eventually I found it was actually quite good! The thing soundly most cars off the line on Kyoto, developed some amazing turn in, good speed holding mid corner. The power out was the worst. But with suspension and diff tweaks I got that mostly dealt with too. I managed at least 3 podiums, and a win with the car. And with a little more work I'm confident it'll break into the 1:44's.

Had a lot of fun yesterday in the nations race. First time in the GT3 RS and Maggoire in reverse. (That course is a whole 'nother animal in reverse!)

Didn't really have time to practice so I qualified 12 with a 1:20 something...

But during the race I got into the 1:17's

Anyway I did my best to keep my nose clean and did so reasonably. Maybe had contact 3 times with other drivers and no punting, just rubbing, and the others did that are the most, so it was really nice racing. (Though my SR still went down) Seeing 4 cars ahead of me all duking it out at times, waiting for moments to strike. Really exciting!
Long story short I ended up moving to fourth! Let other people make mistakes passed at least five people that way, kept mistakes to a minimum. but one did catch me out on the last lap and I ended up fifth because of it, very happy with the result though! Saved that video for later.
