I'm trying to play with as few purchases as possible. I scoured the gamefaqs list and I could not find any trucks as prizes. Do I have to buy a truck to enter the Sport Truck Race?

Yup, Ford SVT, Quality, You Can really Feel The NOS

Atleast You Win The Pimp Moblie, A'La Chevvy, Lowered & Chromes, Ricers Dream, :dopey:

Have Fun truckin,

👍

IMO, you should opt for the Dodge Ram truck. Why? `cause with nitrous, racing flywheel, & full customizable tranny you`ll be able to ace the sport truck series, no problem. And if your into maximum A-Spec points(like me ;) ), you`ll get the full 200. Then upgrade the sucker with a racing exhaust, stage 1 N/A tune- up(at least),chip, & better suspension, you can then win the American hot rod cup, Race of N/A sports, clubman cup, & a few others I can`t remember right now. You will get 200 A-Spec points in every race even with all these mods. This truck is a good deal; like a sore peter, ya can`t beat it! :D

OK, thanks for that. I was looking for a N/A vehicle, too, so it sounds like this may be dual purpose. I don't care about the A-Spec points because those appear to be totally out of whack with this vehicle.

Does this truck take a turbo, too? If so, if I buy it, can I disable it for the N/A or should I run the N/A first, if the turbo is available?

Basically, I'm trying to finish the Beginners and Pro right now so I can start using my Minolta in the Extreme.

I don't think it can use a turbo, only a supercharger. Superchargers tend to give you hp just under NA 2, but for about half the price. Keep in mind that most of that power will be in the lower RPM, so you'll need to tune the transmission appropriately.

If you are short on money, just get the supercharger. If you really want that for NA races, get NA 2.

OK. So far, I`ve used the truck to win the Sport truck, Hot Rod Competition, 4WD race, & 4 out of 5 of the N/A races(haven`t ran the Motegi one yet, saving the worst for last :yuck: . I don`t think you can buy a turbo, but can buy the supercharger although have not tried it so I cannot comment. However, I currently use the N/A 2 setup as needed. Yesterday I deleted my save to start from scratch & don`t currently have all nessesary licenses & progress to see what all it`s capable of entering & winning. But after this long winded  post if you don`t care about A-Spec points, You may be better served by a different vehicle. One last thing- :boggled: with a big heavy pickup truck, It`s much easier to block and otherwise harrass other cars trying to pass ya. :sly:

I was also trying to do the same but found that, unlike GT3, where you could get 100% with only 2 purchased cars, in GT4 you will have to wind up buying a ton of cars for the single make runs anyway.

Also use the Ram for the rally races.. I have used it for the hard ones even and it kicks butt over the rally cars. Just get in front and the size makes it hard for em to pass you.

I ended up using a Lightning. It was a bit hard on Laguna Seca, but doable.

Later, I won the Range Rover Range Stormer and Infiniti FX45 in a rally. It looks like they could be pretty fast with tuning, too.

I got the SSR. I did the Roadster Cup and then immediately went to Sport Truck.

Won both cups fairly easily with only nitrous.

lol i used the dodge ram. The only truck that is a prize is the SST at the end of the sport-truck race.

I'd get the chevy- even if you need to spend more money on it, it's the principle of the thing. (GM car)

I used the Ram with supercharger and race suspension. The suspension wasn't really required, but I wanted to lower it as much as possible.

Oh, yeah, the key feature was the used set of 'Cuda Rallye wheels I bought for it.
