What Do You Drive IRL? Is it in GT7??

I've got the prelude vti 4ws in my thumb, which although older gens had the preludes I don't think any featured the 4ws versions. (Although interesting to see a 4ws controller in the shop, though havnt found anything that can use it yet despite a few of the Japanese cars having 4ws I don't think its functional) I've also got a bmw 330d which has never been featured.

My ride is a 2014 Subaru Impreza Hatchback premium 2.0L in Jade Metallic Mica, a faded green color which I love. Nothing special about this model except the fact I can put it in a “manual” mode, and has a CVT 😫 Clearly there’s a WRX in game of same year but sadly won’t see mine in there. The 2013 Sti was in another game that I played. About every other Subaru worth anything has been in GT. Still I enjoy my Subaru!!

My profile picture is of a Lamborghini Sian (an in game photo) which is in The Crew Motorfest.

This is very close to my latest ride, wheels are different here but they're a fair representation .

The Lexus RC GT2/GT3 racecar was my favourite car in GTS and GT7. A few months ago I had the chance to buy an RC300H and so happy with it. Awesome looks, great to drive and good fuel economy. Driving it the German Eifel region recently was an absolute delight.

I really wanted a GR Corolla, but it's a little out of my budget.

Seriously considered a GR86, but the winter climate made it kind of impractical as a daily, year round driver.

So I settled on the regular '24 Corolla XSE. It's not in GT, but I can pretend, right?

2019 Mitsubishi Mirage.

It's not in the game, but in GT7 I painted a Lancer in the same color to represent it in my garage.

2016 Golf GTI: Its in the game, however mine is the Performance variant with 230PS (not 220) and 4 doors.

2020 Golf R: Not in the game, but the engine is basically the same as in the Audi TTS.

I drive a Kia Forte GT-Line '23, but I'd be fine if they added the turbocharged Forte GT. Ah, who am I kidding, I think the newer K4 is likelier to be added.

Ive had a couple new acquisitions over the last year. Since moving a few years ago, it felt like it was time to change things up. My uses and goals had changed. I sold my old Tacoma, the GT350, the R32 GTR, and my old '78 Honda CB750 motorcycle.

First up was a truck with some towing capacity and a car trailer to be towed. I'd like to visit various race tracks in the whole southeast US and I didn't want to be going that far without some kind of safety net, or driving some tin can track car hundreds of miles back and forth. Picked up a 2017 F150 with 95k miles on it. It felt enormous when I first started driving it and I wasn't completely happy with the truck but after a few mods and tweaks I've come to really like it. Picked up the used aluminum trailer shortly after from a gentleman also doing track days with his C7 Corvette and 911 GT3.

Then it took many months to sell the Skyline. Ironically, the guy who bought it ended up living right down the road from me which is kinda crazy.

Once it did sell, I was finally able to go out and actually look for a fun car. I had something pretty specific in mind and because of my impulsive nature, I bought something pretty quick:

Scooped up this 2006 Lotus Elise using the newly acquired truck and trailer setup to drive 16 hours out to get it and then another to get back. Was far more cost effective and faster than paying $1500 to have it shipped and I got to stop by my old neighborhood and see family and friends. Why did I want this one specifically? Well, that'd be the Honda K24 w/ Civic Si 6 Spd LSD swap. Normally they come with Toyota's 1.8L 2ZZ engine (also found in the Celica GTS of the time) but that seems like it can have issues with hard use on track and would require a lot of work to get it sorted out. Meanwhile, the Honda K series engines make more power out of the box, have more potential, has lots of aftermarket support, and require less work to get track ready.

The car is very fun and visceral, which is exactly what I was looking for, and certainly a bit scary once you really start pushing it. I've never had a mid-engine car before and there are moments you can definitely feel the weight behind you, wanting to push you down a hill or over a crest per-say. The car sounds excellent from the inside and not very loud on the outside.

The original plan was to take the money from the Skyline and split it into two "cheaper" fun cars. Unfortunately, in my hastiness to buy this car, I ended up with a bit of a project. Always get your PPIs done, people! So all the money that was intended for another car has gone right back into this one to get it sorted out. Nothing major (other than cost/time) is wrong, but the car was clearly owned by people with lower standards than mine. Lots of little things wrong. The car was probably fine for taking to a coffee shop or the occasional cars and coffee but not for real, hard enthusiast use. And that's where it's at today. Season is pretty much over out here so I'm going to start tearing down the car and I've already amassed a bunch of parts. Just need to get the work done, ideally by spring time next year.

I'm also very sad to now be in the crew of people who's car is not in GT7. My friend has been frustrated and dying that the DC5 Type-R is not in the game (it was in GT5-6) and now I'm right there with him. I would love to have Lotus back in and be able to toy around with my car. Someday, hopefully 🤞

I also mentioned selling my old Honda motorcycle. It was my first motorcycle and the only one I've ever ridden (I've only been riding for like 5 years or so.) Being old and carb'd, it got to the point where I had to clean the carbs every time I wanted to ride it if I wasn't using it like every week. It was time to try something different/newer. I'm way less knowledgeable about motorcycles so I wasn't sure what I wanted. After hearing some friend's suggestions, I landed on this 2014 Triumph Street Triple 675R. I've only ridden it a couple times but it is radically different; in a way I'm not totally sold on yet. It's much less comfortable and waaaaay faster. Like, why would anyone need anything this fast. Anyway, that's a whole other situation and hopefully I will get more comfortable on the bike in time.

Still praying for a Tourist Trophy 2 🤞

Not sure if I posted it yet: a 2013 F-150 STX. While this trim level isn't in game, the Raptor is.

Yes and no. I did actually make a similar thread a long time ago with the same prompt in the showcase around the same time as this one... Other IRL car thread . Don't know how I missed seeing this one!

My RX7 is represented in game in a couple different ways between the regular model and the RE-Amemiya version. My car straddles the line between both, having a RE-Amemiya kit, but being the widebody variant. In game the RE car is narrow body and while you can widebody the stock car it is the generic "fender pull" treatment that many other cars get. I also put an LS1 V8 in mine (purist gasp) which can only be done in the narrow body RE car.

I've mixed this color a ton of times in game and still never nail it. I get it similar in one light, then it completely changes in different light. Oh well... it's not blue anymore. I'm currently in the middle of doing a lot of updates (newer "burnout" JDM front, lots of carbon, etc.) and changing the color back to black. Slow process, especially when I don't have much extra time for anything at all!

Then there's my daily, a 2014 S6, which sadly isn't in the game. Double sad is that there are ZERO Audi sedans/avants in game. It's really as shame too, because we're in Audis best handling era. We really should have the C8 RS6 and 8Y RS3 at the very least, let alone the RS5/4 and previous R/S sedans and Avants.

And last but not, well kinda, least (I still love it) is my beater 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 TS. Basically the sportiest version of non-turbo Impreza. Slow as all hell, but fun and it goes places you should never take a Subaru. Sadly, no wagons in game, but the '04 STI in game is the same "blob-eye" generation, so that's good enough for partial credit.

I think it's awesome that a game has the capability to come close to so many of our cars IRL, and love seeing everyone's posts about it.

Interested to see what actually comes up in the next update. Not anything I own, but a Cossie and a new Porsche sounds pretty good to me!

Sadly I can't hotlap my XC90 T8 at the Nurb in the game, so I was forced to take it to the real thing. 🥲

And no - I did not want to test my air suspensions limits with seven passengers in car at the Carousel.. 😆 any video or game - vr or not doesnt do justice to the steep undulations the green hell has.

i drive a 1970 Ford Maverick. i built it from stock 200cid straight 6 and with hubcaps lol, to a built up version with the grabber scooped hood, new gauges, wheels, tires, and dropped a 70s 302 i rebuit. i dont drive it daily but i do drive it at least 2wice a week and sometimes more if the weather is dry. i run open headers with 5 inch collectors. its so loud the idle can set off car alarms due to the low rumble when creeping down main street where i live. very fun to drive.
