The way we have been running this is GT Mode>stocky stock NSX-R '92 and '02 TCS and ASM stock too. ( +I had an oil chance )

Taking the aids off obviously makes the car faster and then Arcade mode specs on weight part is allways a little suspicious.

The 1'31.269 time of mine isn't fake , but I did abuse a glitch (I happened to find) in the game to archieve that time.

Your laptimes aren't fake you're just running to different specs, that's all.

FWIW, Clarkson did it in arcade mode, I know that for sure.

...and that's why SRinc got the reactions he got.
Wether Clarkson did it in Acade or GT-mode is hard to tell with complete certainty but if you look closely on clips from that particular segment of that Top Gear episode there are clues as to which mode he did his laptime.
I don't think SRinc intended to tread on anyones toes but some would have liked to see a video or something to pass judgement on their own.

Good point....and as you know most people here and throughout the entire GT-community taking part in the odd events, spot races or the GTP-WRS series are trusted and well known drivers that know their game so well.
Usually it's not a problem.

clarkson was using the d-pad on the controller too, so if you want to beat his time you should do it with the d-pad
