Does anyone else think that the Viper was modelled inaccurately in GT4? I mean, this is a very tough car to handle and has a huge tendency to oversteer, but in GT4 you can't even perform a simple drift with it using N2 tires

It's not just the Viper. GT4's physics engine has understeer on everything. Tons of understeer.

just drive any car, especially a FWD, and you'll see..., :grumpy: you can't even do donuts.., :grumpy:

*edit - as it says in the game:

Cars in the game may be different from the actual cars in shape, size, color, performance, etc.

hope that answers your question.., 👍

Technically it's not that the GT4 engine has too much understeer, it's that it has too little oversteer. It actually makes sense when you think about it this way.

But most people won't think that, they just think too much understeer.

It's shocking how little oversteer i get when driving Vipers in gT4. I remember in earlier games they were alot more prone towards it. My very first drift in GT1 was in a Viper, matter of fact...and it was a mistake! '

I don't know how this reflects against real-life, but trying a Viper from gme to game (GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4) there is so much difference. I found this lack of drift/oversteer capability particularly annoying in the Grand Valley ENduro as the damn car kept understeering so heavily and there was nothing i could do about it.

...again, i'm not sure how this reflects against real-life Vipers.

I know it's not just the Viper. SL65 AMG, S2000, E55 AMG, 350Z... the list goes on. It just doesn't make sense, you can easily induce oversteer in a Supra RZ, but in a 350Z, which has the almost the same weight and power, it's almost impossible. The only big difference between these cars is the aspiration.
