standard cockpit view is wrong

yes, some of the standard cars (cars with roof) are wrong when you select the cockpit view, you cant see the hood!!

you can see it driving a mazda rx7 premium and then a rx7 standard, even psp have hood, why ps3 no?? ,PD

the ps3 interiors looks like piece of black paper on the screen doesnt make you feel like you are in the car, the only good interiors are for the cars of lemans and fgt!

This has been mentioned, that you can't see the hood in GT5 but you could in PSP.
It's probably got to do with textures and how bad they would look on the screen.

That is my interpretation, because I noticed right after patch that the Merc 190e didn't have the hood and in the psp the emblem looks really bad so it would probably look bad on a huge tv so they cut it out. I don't know for sure but that is my guess.

Oh yeah no wipers either.

yea but cars like supra rz, mazda rx7 couldnt look bad, no stickers or emblems, i dont know but PD make things wrong a lot of times :/

I don't know if all standards do it but I have seen a couple of standards lights get brighter when it starts to get dark (before Spec 2.0) but I don't know if they are actually a high beam because I couldn't notice a change in front of the car.

I'm pretty sure the brights for headlights have been changed to match the high beams of premiums with Spec 2.

You're right. It's only stickers that make standards look really bad on the surface, the edges/corners are the other parts that don't look good enough.

The Caterham is an example of the hood not looking bad. It might just be certain cars, but most surfaces on Standards look fine, the stickers just ruin a lot of the race cars.

Standard cockpit view has been such a letdown that I no longer drive standard cars. It's too fake, I can't get past the standard views, nor the view where you are just looking at the road and the rear view "mirror" is just some random box (seriously, how is that simulation?).

But they did a nice job with the FGT cockpit.

this thread reminds me of an old saying, "I would rather have a bit of something than a lot of nothing".

I was gutted when I first read there would be NO cockpit view in standard cars. That was without a doubt the worst bit of standards for me. I couldn't really care less if the graphics look a bit rough, I do care about the driving view and position when I'm driving. The blacked out view is a much welcome addition and the best update so far on GT5 for me. the lack of bodywork is a bit annoying but not a deal breaker.

The new standard cockpits have been a great addition. The perspective is so much better than bumper cam for me. And the total lack of any detail dosent bother me at all. The fact they are based on the actual car cockpit and not some generic sample was a big plus.

Exactly, Kaz said they put serious consideration into whether or not this should be added and I think they made a great choice. It's so much better having the option of using cockpit view. I don't like bumper cam nearly as much, unless I'm trying to look at the detail of the tracks.

Yes some of the car are not completely accurate, for example I went on a test drive on the DTM Audi A4 and the backview don't show the big spoiler of the car also happens on the mirrors.

For one reason they call it simple standard interior views.

in case... some Standard car in GT5 right may no mirrors because this locate on the Hood.

Also... Standard car in Rainy condition may hard to seen because they have no Wipers to sweep the rain drops out.

that should do some improvement...
