Start-Out Drifting

Well, as it goes without saying, i'm new to GTP and new to Drifting, I was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of a cheap car (including tuning - anywhere upto about 400k) to start off with...

And if its not too much of a bother, give me an insight as of how to tune the suspension and torque differential settings so that its easy to start a drift... I'll play around with the tuning afterwards as to preference, but because i've not really done this before (last game I drifted on was NFS:U2 - and that was all built in settings)...

Thankyou in advance to the kind people that give me a point in some direction... :)

Oh and you can send me a add too if you like (elmoigstreets3) 👍

;; i've seen the ameniyia(sp) rx-7 is quite popular on some threads, is this a good starter car? ;;

I personally don't think the Amemiya FD a good drift car, too much grip which makes initial difficult, it's performs more like a normal track car than a drift car

Just buy a RWD car (FC rx-7 is fine) and buy comfort hards. You'll be all over the place at first. Just stick with it, until you can drive around the track reasonably well on those tires.

It will not be easy, Gran Turismo isn't arcadey, you will have to learn to control the car with the throttle. Too much gas and the rear will spin out, but not enough gas can have the same effect. Think about how weight shifts around in a vehicle when you get on the gas and the brakes. Dont give up, the learning curve for drifting in GT5 is STEEP.

Or you could just throw on some medium range tires, yank the e-brake and hope for the best. You'll probably be able to control some of the slides, but you'll honestly never be as good that way. JMHO.

actually, don't rely on the hand-brake too much, try to practice without using it to initial, use it for assist only.

Eh, e-brake helps alot as you begin to learn how to drift since it can cut speed if you find your entry is too fast.
