So I finally got a wheel (and a very cheap one at that since I could not afford the more top of the line wheels like the G25 or the Driver Force GT). Its a Madcatz Racer P3. One huge problem I have is steering response. Its very late to turn when I want it to and this alone is making it difficult to adjust to driving all of my driving games with a wheel. Is their any way I can fix this?

That is why you need to save up for better wheel like the DFP GT wheel.. You waisted your money on that CATZ Crap.

If I'd known my dad was getting me a wheel before hand, I would have definately told him about that. Given our current situation with us still trying to fix things on our house and the way the bills keep somehow going up however, I'm not so sure it would have been possible.

Well tell your father, sorry but you have to return it because its crap.. later save up for DFGT

I agree with NoxNoctis Umbra, it's not worth it to use a crappy wheel over a controller. Better to save up for a solid wheel than to try and make a crap wheel work for you. If anything you will be reducing your experience with said games by using a crap wheel.

The first wheel I ever bought was a Madcatz and it broke down after a year and screwed up my PS2 controller port. I later wanted a Driving Force wheel as it had force feedback and that was a much better experience. The only problem was that you couldn't shift and turn at the same time when using the paddle shifters with manual gears(I was playing GT3 at the time). I had to reassign buttons etc to get around that but I wanted to use the paddles as that was what it was for.

So I awaited for a new wheel that had fixed this issue and along came the Driving Force Pro. It had more features and 900 degrees of rotation and was the next level in realism. I bought that wheel for GT4 and was in driving heaven. Until the brake pedal issues came to light (google for that fix). The fix only lasted for a month at a time before I gave up and switched to the controller for the rest of the PS2 gaming life.

Then came the G25 finally what I was waiting for: no shifting issues, no brake pedal issues, metal pedals with clutch and H shifter, larger diameter wheel etc. Only problem was price so I saved up and bought one with my hard earned money and haven't looked back since.

I now enjoy GT5P with the G25 and eagerly await GT5. I may save up for a Fanatec wheel for use with the X360 and Forza 3 as well as the PS3, but it depends if I actually like Forza 3.

So my advice to you is to save up for a DFGT at the very least or stick to the controller.

I know you're young, but you could help yourself by actually reading the posts you're responding to. You've just said "yep" to 2 things there...

ungh, Racecar was asking me questions that I have been answering.

You answered an "either/or" question with "yes".

That's why daan invited you to actually read the posts to which you are responding.

...

When someone is presented with two options where they may choose one or the other, a sole "yes" is not an appropriate response.

I'd like to present you with a hypothetical situation which would occur in the real world.

You go to a cinema food outlet. You request a fizzy drink. The attendant says:

"Would you like Coke or Pepsi, sir?"

You say:

"Yes."

Yes is not an answer to an either/or question. RACECAR asked an either/or question. You responded with just "Yes". It's not a quirk of GTPlanet - it's that you didn't read the post when you responded.

He was right, so I said yep, as in that is right.

I'm still confused actually. Do I go to the control settings(like in the particular game I'm playing) or do I adjust the Wheel manually(as in mess around with something on the wheel itelf)? Thats was what I was trying to say.

Seems like youngsters get a better English education in gtplanet than in school :) And gtplanet has also made me a better in English. As i am a non-native speaker and therefore can easily improve by using the language :)

You need to go to the controller settings, in one line, it shows a normal PS2 controller then next to the controller is a couple different wheels. Pick the wheel that you are using, and settings for it will show up. Are you still confused?

RACECAR said,

And as you can see, from the TWO OPTIONS presented to you, you didn't say WHICH OF THEM was the right one, so RACECAR was no better off than if you hadn't posted at all.
