Thing is you're a demon with a dual shock were as I'm rubbish with both but slightly less so with a wheel :)

If I'm being honest I find the TT demo difficult no matter what I'm using as it's near impossible for me to correct even the slightest of slides. Prologue is easier but it's still much easier for me to slide with a controller on that.

Was it you who suggested Indy backwards? Tried it the other night and it does make the track significantly different, good call. 👍

if you watched that recent video I posted of the IS-F vs Datalogger Ghost time trial, you can see the guy recovering from a fairly large slip angle with a wheel. Certainly something I couldn't do in the Time trial 👍

If it's the tuned version, it's harder to recover because of the nature of any slick (Racing) tires: it just doesn't break progressively (and probably augmented by the stiff suspension in most race cars). I have to problem recovering with the Normal 370Z although I suppose having the FFB set higher (in my case 10) helps give a better feedback and feel when steering the car back in control. It's actually better than Prologue which doesn't quite have the same feedback in regards to weight shift on the tires.

The TT demo has expired for me too :( looks like it's going to be back to Prologue for a while

I've not had my DFGT long so I'm pretty sure I'll get better at catching slides. I have a feeling the full game will be more forgiving than the TT demo anyway.

I find both versions feel about the same when they slip :)
I certainly couldn't do what that guy did with the IS-F, on either 370z with a DFGT

^ glad it's not just me then :D

Has anyone tried changing the PS3 date to keep the TT demo working?

Crap...
What's going to happen now? I hope they'll give us the CES demo:nervous:

Anyway, ask yourself why the demo expired...I think it's because the physics are not representative of the final product, they keep evolving.

I've been checking a few gaming sites today to see if the PSN store update had a new GT5 demo but I knew I was getting my hopes up!

A few mates I've spoke to about the GT5TT demo didn't like it because it was too hard and therefore not much fun so I think it would be a very good idea for PD to release a "normal" GT5 demo before the game comes out so the last impression people have isn't of a hardcore build.

What would be even better is the SLS demo with the Nordschleife although the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim. As to the physics- I agree that PD will update and improve it until release. For example, there hasn't been proper tire modeling since GT4- tire wear and temperature still haven't been implemented in any version of recent GT games/demo.

where do you come up with this? This wasn't a demo. It was a trial. They start, then they end. Competition is complete so there is no point for them to keep hosting this thing.

What's to host. It's not costing them anything for us to play it? I can't see why they canceled our demo that we downloaded.

Oh well not to worry.

Yes I agree they need to let an easy demo with an epic car and fast track to get some people excited.

....a trial with the physics of gt5, or a taste like they say:

"experience a taste of the pure driving simulation"=test=demonstration=demo
Kaz himself said this TT was also meant to show the new physics.

The trial ended january 24th because it was meant to. No possibility to upload personal laptimes anymore. Semifinals and finals followed shortly after.
Why bother blocking the acces to the offline race and don't let people enjoy it until the full game is released? Maybe for a specific reason: to prevent people (players but mainly journalists) from judging GT5. This was not THE demo of the full game. Kaz and Polyphony representatives keep saying the game is evolving.

What happened to GTHD concept? Same thing. It was removed from the public playstation store. Why? Simply because it was not representative of the final product (which has not been released yet...GT5) at all.

No. GT HD was (sadly) removed from the stores but if you "bought" it you can download it again and it doesn't expire!

It's still playable and the last time I tried it the servers were still online to post lap times.

That's why I said it was removed from the public playstation store....
New players can't get it.

I will miss the TT. Taking the stock 370 out for a few hot laps was a great way to get warmed up for Prologue. After that a Ford GTLM with N2's even seemed easy to drive :embarrassed:

I know...but it is obsolete.
Obsolete according to what definition? I certainly don't consider GTHD to be obsolete, given that I play that now just as much as I was playing the TT demo. Even with GT5P out, I will not consider GTHD obsolete until the full GT5 launches, because only then will I have no compelling reason to play it.

I played it only with a DS3, when my wheel arrived, my PC LAN card stopped working, then when I finally managed to solve the problem, the demo just stopped working.

Do the replays still load and play?
if they do I'm gonna kick myself for deleting the Time Trial and replay files....

Just so much better than Prologue!

My PSN: I-C-E-0-Z-Z-Y (the 0 is a zero)

Please add me and give me the demo, its more up to date than prologue, right?

You can download it just fine, and install it, but even when you turn the date back and disconnect the net connection, it says expired :(

Darn. I guess we'll have to wait for November 2 then. I might try my luck on some gaming expo's that come up. They might have a nice demo of it there :D.

Does the PS Store let you download if your clock is incorrect? (i.e. - set before the demo expires). Cause if it does I might give that a try and see if it works again!

I tried evrything, and it doesn't work. The demo probably has an internal embedded date. Or could have been set to expire a certain number of days
