This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #44:

FR Non-Racing Car Super Lap: 1:35.000 - Apricot Hill - 500PP - CS

Italian Non-Racing Car Super Lap: 2:15.000 - Ascari - 600PP - SH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Lap Time - Car (try to include manufacturer) - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kDEW2OWUxHfq9PTR4G4-HKXl3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then lap time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on lap time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best lap time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

500PP FR CS at Apricot Hill:
454PP - 1:40.928 - Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta ' 61 - CS - FR - 275hp - 960kg

This was the fastest car I could find. It's hard to find cars with CS tires, nearly all the ones that showed up in my list of acceptable cars were those on which I had used lesser tires during drift events. I tried buying a few but if they had CS tires they were slower than the Ferrari 250 GT. Seems like this one will be unlikely. I just managed gold (1:34.xxx) when I put CS tires on a stock Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71.

600PP Italian at Ascari:
546PP
- 2:14.960 - Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 '08 - SH - 4WD - 552hp - 1410kg
512PP - 2:16.905 - Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone '67 - SH - MR - 349hp - 980kg

The Miura should be doable by someone; I do not push enough in the turns. The Gallardo is slower in the turns due to its weight, but it has enough power and acceleration in the straights.

The best car I found was the Mazda RX-8 Type S '07 at 429PP but still only managed 1:40. With a bit more practice I could maybe get to 1:39 but I can't see anyone finding 5s. Also tried one of the faster S2000s and the Nismo LM road car thing which despite being 456PP is a bit rubbish. Had a go in the 250 GT too. All around the 1:40/1:41 mark. It's going to have to be downgrading tyres of faster cars here.

That's a good time in the Miura @Hastatus. I only did a few laps but my best clean one was miles slower. That's one challenge that might keep my interest though.

Used a Tamora with CS tyres to creep under the gold time after 2 laps by 0.009 of a second.

Will try a stock car for Ascari - then probably return to Spa for cash and prizes... okay just the cash

I don't think there is any car that comes with CS tires which is fast enough to get gold at the 500pp event.
Best i could find was the BMW 135i (456pp i think), but 2 seconds away from gold.

For the Ascari TT i took the Miura.

I try to do it with the Ferrari 365 GTB4 now. Just did a 2:14,5xx, but went wide in the final turn and got DQ'd 100m before the finish line. :banghead:

Done.

Great stuff from @Ed_Night and @MadMax (Nice to see you back. I can't imagine what you've been doing that can be more fun than the stock seasonals). I could only manage silver in the Miura and worked my way up the PP via the GTO '84, SP1, 599 and Gallardo LP 560-4 doing half a dozen laps in each till I got to the Scud. Now I've got gold I might have work my way down again.

I have to admit I'm still not entirely comfortable at Ascari. So many blind apexes and tricky cambers. I find myself very reliant on track-side markers for braking and turn-in points and don't look ahead enough.

After I painted it Noir étoilé (Which I am Ghana say translates as "Black Starry") - Took to the track with my Usual suspects blue ghost lines setting bonkers times in Tuned cars - But Howling MadMax set a "do-able" ghost.

The car was a big handful - Locking up if you get a bit stompy into corners and getting even more smoky if you try to get stompy with the go faster pedal. took me 20 miles to get Gold after a few run wides in oddball places, (Made the first chicane only to chew the gravel on the exit of the following left. Also had a high speed overrun at the Brundle corner on the fast back straight bit.

In the hands of a more motivated driver this car can go way faster but it felt like I was running fast on a narrow beam - Too fast - and you fall off the beam! Happy to not have fallen off after 135 seconds.
