Hybrid? Bleh. :yuck: Way to kill the image GM. Twin turbo V6 is the way to go rather than a V8 hybrid. I don't care what anyone says, a V8 (or larger) hybrid is just retarded.

I'd rather that they just make the car smaller and more efficient with a V8 than mess around with V6 engines or hybrid systems.

50:50 weight distribution with an MR drivetrain wouldn't provide anymore grip than 50:50 with an FR drivetrain. It also wouldn't handle any better, or provide any real benefits at all, strictly speaking.

You're forgetting about the polar moment of inertia. With two masses spread apart (FR), rotation is more difficult initially, and harder to counter. With the masses centrally located (MR), rotation is easier, and yet easier to counter. This is why the M3 will never be as delicate a drive as the Cayman, despite one being 50:50 and the other being...less so.

The Corvette's mass is already centrally located. It is just centrally located slightly behind the front axle instead of slightly in front of the rear axle.

I'm sure a hybrid option will go over about as well as the mid-engine idea did, if not worse.

As one of "the Corvette guys," I can't say that I'd be throwing my hands up in anger over the idea of a Corvette Hybrid. Assuming they're using a modified version of the Two-Mode system under the GMT900s, it shouldn't be too bad. GM will probably have some kind of switchable driving mode selector thingy to keep things green or gassy, just to keep the people happy.

I dunno. I'd like to see them try an electric Corvette. But, I'm crazy.
