Stupid Newbie Mistake - HELP?

Through a stupid mistake, I sold my last car for nothing and I only have 641 credits.

I do have the Nike One now, but I can't race it to win money.

What can I do to get back in the game without having to take the license tests again?

I've finished the B, A, and IB tests.... I am horrible, so I really do not want to have to start the game over again. I eked by with bronzes in most of the tests.

Is there ANY way to get another car or more money with just the Nike One? Or do I have to just pass () the IA tests, which could conceivably take me a year?

Quite how you have managed to put yourself in a position that you could potentially lose a Gran Turismo game I will never know, did you sell all you cars to get bits of money, then buy a really cheap one spend loads off money on it and then sell it? It's beyond me :dunce::P either way don't worry yourself too much. I can't remember but I think your Ib will allow you to do some mission hall events. You don't use your own car for these so its not a problem, they are a bit like licence tests but you earn money from them, the first few are quite easy too, you get money for winning them. This is your easiest way out of this mess.

Yes... stupid, isn't it? :dopey:

I only had two cars. I sold one to fix up the other one. Then it started pulling left (which, after reading the FAQs, I realized was just a controller error). Thinking it was a problem with the car, my husband said sell it. It came up as no value, but he said try it anyway - maybe I'd get some money for it. I didn't.

I finished the IB license, hoping I'd get a car to race.... imagine my surprise when the Nike couldn't enter any races.

Thanks for the idea - I can do the missions, I think. I didn't realize you could get money for them. I'll go try now. (Although I have a millions things I should be doing, instead of playing a game)

THANKS!

Yeah, the missions give you up to 50.000Cr. iirc.
And dont sell all your cars, you wont get some of them back (like a couple of the license prize-cars), just keep them and race for your money.

Another thing you can do is get all silvers/golds in the license tests. Each license, when all silvered/golded gives you another car. It may take a bit of work, but hey, you can race again.

^my thoughts exactly. Not only will silvers (and golds) get you more cars, it will also make you a better player!

Hurray! I won the first one, so that's $1000.

Thanks!

Hurray! :D

If I was you, I'd get enough cash for something like a cheap Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (less than 10,000 credits for the oldest one), then go race Rally Capri Easy. 5,000Cr. per win and a 250,000Cr. prize car to sell afterwards. :)👍

I'm suprised no one mentioned the 100,000 credit transfer.
Granted you need to have GT3 game data saved, but its still an option.

Ah, that makes a bit more sense. For future reference, there is no advantage whatsoever from selling a car that doesn't have a value. So bare that in mind, also there are a few cars that cannot enter any events, i.e nike one. There is also a toyota triathlon car that cannot race either and a few more less notable cars early on.

in license tests you fail if you hit the wall with the front bumper, however in the rally satages its easy to 'bounce off the walls' with your rear bumper to achieve a quicker corner, you aren't failed for this.

Not really a cheat, more of a loophole.

You can also do the missions as many times as you want. Your A-spec points total will not increase, However your money will. (yes I know it is a painstaking way to eran money as there are much quicker ways to do this.) However If you have no car and no money, Mission hall will certainly get you both.

If you are able to clear the first 10 missions the prize car will be the Delorean. This car can be used for a few beginnner Hall races aswell.

The big thing to remember is that
1) Never sell (if you can help it) Licence or mission hall prize cars. (extremely hard to get back).
2) Keep practicing, the game becomes addictive, (as you may already know).
3) Any problems or questions. Ask GTPlanet.

P.S. Welcome to the magical world of GT racing.

Rather than extremely hard, I would go as far to say almost impossible if you only have one memory card, since you would need at least two of them to get a car you sold. But nowadays, it seems most people are equipped with two memory cards when playing Gran Turismo 4, yet I'm excluded from this select group

I have 8 or 9 different memory cards, lol.

Oh I see. Man, every time my rear bumper hits anything, it won't necessarily fail me, but it slows me way down. Guess you have to strategically hit it just right or something.

Once you get the Delorean, keep it, but use it for some of the races in the beginner hall.

In effect, play like you only just started the game.

This thread actually sounds like a pretty cool challenge for some of us. In other words: you sell all your cars but don't have any money in the bank. No licenses or missions done yet... How long does it take you to get back on your feet? 💡

...I might just do this!:nervous:

I strongly recommend getting the IA license then going for the Driving Missions. I find the Celica mission (don't remember number) to be incredibly easy. Just don't go near Mission 34, it does give you more but it's hard as hell :nervous:

I was thinking the same PB. Especially if my 3 can't be repaired. I'll have to start again in a ps2. Would be a bummer to lose my 65 hard earned golds. But may just go this way instead. Good thinking :) Great challenge, especially for someone like me who is still relatively new at this.

Trust me Parnelli, you don't want to do that. My son did it for me when I left him alone for 5 minutes. Ended up with 8 million credits worth of Spyker's in my garage and no cash!!

It ended up being Bye Bye Save Game #1 for me.

Tune up a crazy turbo AWD car and line yourself up against the outside wall, then use the AWD to keep the nose pointing inward as you get "scooped" around the bend.

Oh, I see. I was talking about hitting the wall during a license test.
