Stupid things people say

"Are you sleeping?"

Mom used to give something similar to my sister and I when we were kids. During the summer break from school, while my parents were out at work, she'd call home around 9 in the morning:
"Are you awake yet?"

No I must be answering in my sleep.

Now whenever either of us go out and it's past 10 at night, she's at home calling us:
"Oh you're not home yet?"

I always get." Come home now" after I just left the house or I am at work.

On Facebook:

"Oh my god, so angry right now. Some people need to grow up."
"What's up?"
"Can't say on here."

and

"Haha, nice of you to put up a status clearly aimed at me without mentioning my name",
where the person does the exact same thing they were complaining about.

Here in Michigan, everyone says acrosst instead of across. Even the English teachers say it wrong:dopey:.

Swag is what a stereotypical burglar carries. If it doesn't have swag on it, it has a dollar sign.

A decade ago, "swag" was the stuff you picked up for free at a convention or conference. Is it used as a verb now?

It is now a douche neck t-shirt and body glitter way of saying 'attitude'.

I think.

Most of the time I say stupid things when I'm talking to girls I like. :embarrassed::

It's a cliché but it's the truth

If I reach way back to when talking to girls was somewhat troublesome, the stupid things were more like:

"Uh . . were . . Uh . . Duh . ."

I think my brain was too busy looking. And smelling.

"I'm strawberry blonde"

Strawberries = Red
Blonde = Yellow

Red + Yellow = Orange

You're ginger.

My friends when they see a car with word BMW in it:

LOOK THAT IS AN M5!!!

My friends when they see a car with MB logo:

HEY THAT IS AN AMG.

One thing that still pisses me off to this day is this girl coming up to me during school and saying quiet people make her nervous and that 'quiet people always seem to be planning stuff'. So damn stupid.

That's actually quite normal. I'm 99% sure she's an extrovert. Like introverts who get nervous and feel uneasy whenever they are around lots of people or an opportunity for conversation exists, extroverts feel the same way about being around people and not talking.

I'm an introvert and I don't feel awkward whenever I'm with someone and we don't say a word. Lol, I'm just weird. Extroverts on the other hand will feel awkward and have the need to say something. To 'small talk' or that's what I heard it's called.

But the "quiet people always plotting" stuff, your friend's just paranoid.

Yep that's what we would call the free crap we get from phone OEMs when I worked at a t-mobile call center.

Some people still call it "swag" but a younger age groups use it as a lifestyle.

I could do with less internet commentators always insisting that all faith in humanity has been lost.

I was standing in line at the grocery store today and heard a woman visiting from out of state say, "I love visiting Colorado, it's so beautiful here! I just hate how many people are in this state though, it's like the mountains are just crowded all the time!!" :dunce:. Uh you mean other people who come to the state to see the mountains, other people exactly like YOU?

Talking to an old female friend...

“Oh hi! Haven't seen you in so long! How are you?! OMG we have to get together! Where are you now?"

"Hey! Yeah, it's been a long time. I'm good, have been traveling a bit."

“Oh? Like where?"

“I'm in Panama."

“Is that in Mexico?"

*facepalm*
