Suggestions Box (PSP Time Attack Challenges !!!)

Since the creation of the official rules and regulatons for the time attack challenges the TAC has been a priority to mantain the rules and the parameters updated for new isues that we could find along the way, and since the TAC official regulations mantain always in development this thread is concive to full fill that pruporse.

This thread is also intended to give updates to the rules and reglamentations of the time attack challenges, if you find and isue with the TAC that you are on, please post your inquiry here.

You can also make your part by posting new ideas about the TAC structure and regulation.

And always remember to keep a good behaviour in the track, play fair and race to win !!!!!!!

Yeah this is getting out of control, they're too many of these time challenge threads going out now. It's rather annoying to see the forums getting spammed with this.

Honestly, what this section needs is to have something setup like WRS. Which is weekly, or starting a career mode to keep challenges active every week. Hopefully this will reduce the spam of time challenges everyday.

Well, there is one coming up in a week now, more details are coming soon, GTCr@zyPSP's challenge Supercars Vs Tuner Cars Showdown Time Attack is part of it... so you should run some laps there first !

We should make something like WRS but call it Your Weekly GTPSP Fix. Each week would be a different challenge. Like the first one would be random, so the winner of the first week would get to choose a car and track of his or her choice for the upcoming week. Easy mentioned that were not allowed to copy WRS in the PSP section. Or we could always go to the career mode I mentioned hahah

Well akiraacecombat, I'm confused about what you really want here.

First, you have lsbf1 gtpsp Time trial in which you can find some rules, then you have DrifTime's challenges World Touring/ Race Car Time challenge, and GTCr@zyPSP challenge(s) Supercars Vs Tuner Cars Showdown Time Attack. I asked him if I could open my own challenge -TAC season "style"- whereas he's already hosting a TAC challenge with possibilities to continue, and he generously agreed to let me launch it, we agreed that I have to wait a little and that his challenge can be part of it in a way.

So it's not like we don't have any TAC on !!!

Moreover we did these GTPlanet Time Attack Challenge Hosts Ultimate Car Lists in order to help Hosts in their car/combo choices.

I think what you might want to do is to do a gtplanet.wrs kind of structure but for GT PSP, I already asked the Race Admin staff, they told me that it wouldn't be possible to have a GTpsp WRS -guys are really busy so I can understand-, so what we really need is a new website with a partnership with Jordan + our own Thread with Rules and everything. In that way we could have something we could refer to as "THE Rules".

However, in order to do that, we would have to be more than members... So back to Jordan, but this choice is not ours to make and asking for it would be bad idea cause first we are too young members, second, those TAC are quite new, and third, how long do you think GT PSP will survive after GT5 ???

So what can we do here : what a GTplanet Time Attack Challenge should look like (how many GTplanet TAC can be opened at the same time / which kind of rules we have to follow). We could work on those rules, then when we all almost agree with them, open a poll.

Then we could ask Jordan for a permission to have a Read This! tag on a "gtplanet Time Attack Challenge Rules", a thread useful for every potential TAC host...

As the father of the TAC, Shigegaki should be the one we have to listen to about those rules.

I just read again what I wrote and I must say I'm having trouble to explain what I think in english.

To sum up :

- first establish all gtplanet TAC rules by referring to what was already done + all useful links like the car lists, ghosts replays upload, etc...
- second : a poll
- third propose it to Jordan and ask if we could have a Read This! OR let him open this thread (so that he can control it)...

In that way everyone who wants to open an "official" gtplanet TAC has to follow those rules.

About a weekly event and weekend event, till we don't have a WRS -not allowed to use that name !- website + official thread, we have to let it to members who want to host their TAC ! and we are free to be in or not !

EDIT : I'm thinking about redoing my website (link in signature) with a GTplanet style... BUT if I do so, I'll have to ask Joradn first !!!

EDIT 2 : I'll open my TAC challenge announce thread today so that we can use it as a working draft...

The only difference is that we usually consider the rumble/ripple strips NOT part of the track.

ps: i think that gt5 will take a little longer, so we can make the wrs gtpsp comes alive for a while.

Should we add a number of cars limit to the rules ? Max 2 for one challenge ? 4 like lbsf1 ? No more than 6 cars if combining the 2 current challenges ? No more than 4 ? What do you think guys ?

The reason I put 4 in is so it adds another piece of complexity. on psp yo can't fine tune setups easily so I thought this would be a good way to spice stuff up with different cars suiting differnent people.

That's the point : 4 is just fine ! Really !

My concern was if we have two challenges in the same week with 2 x 4 cars (so 8 cars), I'm afraid one challenge will suffer for the good of the other so I think 6 max (1x4 + 1x2 or 1x3 + 1x3) should give enough time to run in both challenge... No ? What do you suggest lbsf1 ?

I think we sould tag our thread "[GTPTAC]" to make sure that people will understand that what we're speaking about in the thread concerns "GTPlanet Worldwide Time Attack Challenge" members/activities/challenges/ etc -community ???- only... What do you think about that guys ? And what about I just said in the previous message ???

Hi guys !

This DIV and Point Ranking System we have for WTAC is far from being perfect -I'm responsible for making it worse by the strange choices I made sometimes, sorry - and I would like to know, now that you saw some things that could happen, what you think about this system : fair, unfair -system is fair but I'm not can be said too !- ? What would you like to be changed/added ? Feel free to speak !

Just remember, this system is still a work in progress, we're actually testing it right now and is only there to give us a little more challenge, something more to fight for ! However with or without it, one thing is still the same : you followed rules and posted a clean lap before deadline, your laptime will be on the leaderboards at its respective place/rank ! So this system is just a "+", but if it looks unfair, too harsh, not clear enough, etc., we can make it better or even cancel it ! As I told you before, I'm like you, I'm just trying to keep this challenges running and have fun with you ! If I could only run and not a have to think that much about combos and rules, I would be happy too ! So this system should be there to add something positive, not something negative...

PS: I'm going back to France on August the 7th, will have one week off and I'm not sure if I will be able to keep on this hosting thing so if someone would like to take over, now would be a great time to say it !
