Hey CFM, Love the combo for WK 10!

How about a muscle car championship for WRS in the near future? Maybe sometime down the road, since we just did the muscle car thing. Actually,Kolyana had this idea....

Kolyana
I'd really like to see a choice of muscle cars - all with their pros and cons - with perhaps x-amount of dollars allowed for upgrades (rather than a capped HP or something). With a little research, we could find half a dozen closely matched cars and let people go at it!

Quite a few of us really like the muscle cars.
Thanks!

I second this idea :P

I'd also happily do some research on the various muscle car options, weighing up their various pros, cons and how 'close' they are to each other. I'm sure there would be several people willing to help out in narrowing down a potential field of cars to choose from.

I can help with that!

Maybe we should do it and post a suggested list of unmodded cars? Sure would give us some fun on the side. Let's continue in PM and co-ordinate :P

Suzuka in RUF's Yellow Bird
Amalfi or Citta d'Aria in any of the DTM cars

But: even if I dont like the choice of car this week, it forces me to become a better driver and deal with the situation...so no moaning from this side of the track!

Actually Kolyana and others, the muscle car series would be great for an event in the short race series forum here at GTP. I wouldn't want to run multiple events in the WRS using the same type of cars as those who don't enjoy it would have to wait too long before something they liked came up. Thanks for the ideas everyone, some good ones posted recently.

BTW, why do so many of you want to do the same old tracks and cars from GT3 over and over again? Personally I want to use cars and tracks new to GT4 as much as possible. You guys really miss GT3 that much?:P

Uh, a series would be great, but I think we were just talking about 1 week in the WRS ... justa selection of closely matched muscle cars, x-amount of dollars to upgrade them anyway we wanted ... like the skylines, but just american muscle.

Kent
Hong Kong with JGTC 300.

Grand valley with Full quick tune RGT or cerbera speed six (not the tuscan).

Motor land with FTO LM

Suzuka with the '93 calsonic (R32 gtr)

George V in the 206 rally

Paris Opera in the alfa 155 touring car

I would really like to see that tuscan speed six used at some point in the future. :D

I'll second:

GT300 @ Hong Kong 👍 (the Amuse S2000 R1 would also be a nice choice)
Alfa DTM @ Opera Paris 👍 (I've been itching for some action in that Alfa)

I'd really like to run a fully-modded TVR T350 :D (as opposed to the Speed 6)

Oh. Rob23 said championship, so that equals a series of races in my mind. Yea, we could do an event like that later on down the road. Lots of other neat things to try out first though.:sly:

Sorry,CFM..I was only talking about a one-race deal,I had the muscle car championship in GT mode, stuck on my brain (someone else was talking about how to get the bird for this week's WRS race)

Sounds good to me,already starting working with Kolyana on getting a list of cars together. 👍

Just got to thinking, how about a City Course for next week?

So far, we've had:

El Capitan
Fuji
Autumn Ring
Deep Forest
New York
Nordschleife
Motegi
Le Sarthe
Cathedral Rocks
Infineon

... only New York being a City Course.

How about ...

Georges V Paris (BMW 2002 Turbo 👍 )
Opera Paris
Costa Di Amalfi
Ciatta Di Aria

Audi R8 @ Gran Valley Speedway
Sex @ the Beach

That sounds pretty good Kolyana doing the research thing. If you ever need any more help I'd fell free to try.

OK Vtec ... essentially ROb is compiling a list of potential muscle cars all keeping in the spirit of american, old school MUSCLE. We're going to have to check these to ensure that they are either easy to win or don't cost an arm and a leg, and ensure that there are no glaring problems such as one of them can't be upgraded at all, one is much stronger or weaker then the others and so on. From this we hope to compile a list of half a dozen equally matched muscle cars ... maybe with different handling to suite different styles, but all of them capable of performing similarly.

I suspect we may need assistance with that, but we'll see ;P

Costa Di Almalfi has my vote, especially in a JGTC car.

Citti di Aria sounds like great fun in a JGTC or WRC car.. something with excellent throttle/braking response.

I 'threw' a Citroen around Citti di Aria last night in the French Citroen challenge ... incredibly slow, but what a huge amount of fun. It's such a great track.

I'd really love to do Laguna Seca sometime in the near future, perhaps with one of those 1/2 dozen muscle cars you guys are working on.

YAY! We're currently compiling the list and figuring out a few neat twists that would make it interesting and competitive ... a vote in favor ... *does a little jig*

Maybe you should start your own competition, I don't think we should do muscle cars so soon after doing them this week...

I don't see any harm in waiting say one month and doing a muscle car shootout.

With so many cars and track we have yet to try out, 3 weeks and back to the same thing is a bit quick imo. It just seems to me like a better idea for a series race because of the car selection.

Oh I've not even pencilled anything in ... that's all down to CFM and I wouldn't care if it were 8 weeks from now ... I agree, we can't re-do muscle cars too quickly after this week.

ROb and I are working on some details and then we'll pitch it to CFM ... there are a few neat twists we've thought of that haven't appeared in a WRS race yet (this season, at least :P). If he doesn't bite, we'll consider a mini-series (it has been discussed), but right now it's just in a discussion and development stage ... what actually happens to it after that is all down to CFM :P

Perfect track for that!!! good idea!! I second that!
We are getting it pretty well together,as Koly said...gonna be cool!!

I actually said that exact thing to CFM about it, it was just an idea for down the road, not anytime soon necessarily, just throwing Suggestions out there.

Well, I have a feeling that I know what CFM has up his sleeve.

In honor of that I am not going to ruin the chances of him doing it by suggesting it and tipping you all off.

However, I must say, if I'm in the same book as CFM (forget the same page, it is after all just stabbing in the dark) I can say for sure you will all enjoy the race.

I can't say anything about the track, but for this sort of racing I think we need to go city style or original course style.

Just to throw in my own 2 cents though,
CFM, consider doing more than one lap with a course that has a wide track.
Shoulder space isn't a concern to me... I would rather have a wide track and a wall then a narrow track and grass.

Maybe I like staying with-in the lines, maybe I wall ride. ;)

I'm just saying, city or original, choose wisely. :D

If people are mentioning city tracks that they would like to see, I must suggest Monaco! You know Cote d Azur.

I know its not a city track, but perhaps grand valley could be fun!

Maybe some thing mid engine for both of those tracks. Like oh i dont know a 1992 Honda NSXR?
