Sultan of Michigan (Not really for 56k)

There was a guy like that in Houston. He was a super high profile lawyer. He owned some 800 cars. Many exotics, and a great number of Muscle Cars. But late last year, he ran his Tahoe into a tree going 60+ mph in a 35 zone and died! I'm not sure what happened or will happen to his collection. I guess you could call him the "Sultan of Houston."

I must say, aside perhaps 5 or 6 cars in there, nothing really tickles my fancy... SLR, Enzo, Veyron, Carrera GT, Scuderia, Gallardo, S7, GT-R, Phantom, Continental GT, etc... IMO they're the pretty much the "wealthy car afficionado collection starter kit", something you're bound to see, and honestly pretty much expecting to see, when you've got a gathering of high priced automobiles. Love those Callaway C12s, though.

The only car worth my interest is that Vector. I haven't seen one of those at all in like...5 or 10 years. Since I unlocked it in Gran Turismo 2 at least.

Porsche 935 Slant-Nose

This man has taste, and a fine eye for some of the greatest automobiles ever created.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this car is not really that intersting?

I didn't, until I saw it. There's something about seeing it in person that photos can't describe. For me atleast. Same with the Reventon.

Suprised there was no McLaren F1. A man of his money and taste suprises me that he doesn't have one. It isn't the best driver's car, by a mile, but it would be higher on my list than the Reventon....just. :P

Holy crap!! Do they hand out towels and diapers before you enter the room??? WOw just wow. That Reventon is so beautiful! I was so happy when I found out that car was in Forza 3. To see some of those cars in person must have been orgasmic.👍

cool. do you have an address or what main roads it's on ? im going this weekend for sure.

The collection isn't open to the public and you have to know in advance when the tours are going on. Judging by various forums pictures of his collection turn up on they do it a couple times a year. The last tour was in January, then this one this past weekend.

The only reason I found out about it was through NISM0_SKYLINE and he was just lucky to find out about it.

I don't remember the name of the road it's on though, it's back in some industrial park.

I'm not really sure of the dates or open house. I think I might take a trip by every few weeks on a Saturday morning to see if maybe it's open again. I don't remember the name of the street either, but it's pretty easy to explain if I ever find another open house.

I was surprised too, but it seems like he always has new cars so he will have one or did have one. Some guy on F-Chat said...

He's more focused on growing his new businesses than buying "keepers" right now. There are some new cars; but most of them will be gone in the next 30 days or so.

So who knows. I don't think he's done with the collection though, well hopefully :D.

At first he was in the real estate settlement industry and made money there, but then he bought assets of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering products from his distant cousin. From there I don't know. I thought I heard he sold Lingenfelter or his real estate company and made something in the hundred-millions and then bought all the cars. Athough I'm not 100% sure, I think it's something along those lines.

I'm thinking that I need to do whatever it is he does for a living. Did you get a chance to met him Eric? He was a really nice guy and extremely down to Earth.

I havent really been watching Lingernfelter since johns passing. I see he has quite a few Calaways too

No I didn't. I saw him a few times, but he always in a crowd so I didn't get a chance to. He did look like a really nice guy though, but most car guys like that are.

My dad talked Eric, the one from Autozone, and he said either his kid or someone else's kid said something about the Enzo and Ken opened it up and let him sit in it. I was trying to get that with the GTR, but he never came by. He also us that Ken brought the Veyron out to Autozone before for one of the shows, that made me want to go way more often now .

Oh yea, did you know that they have a cars and coffee in Detroit at the MotorCity Casino? It's off now, but they start back up on May 15. That might be worth checking out too.

No I did not know about Cars and Coffee at MotorCity, but you bet I'll be down there for the next one. The Detroit area is starting to suck less and less .

My mom actually found while looking up the California one. I'm still not a big Michigan fan, but all these car collections and car shows aren't too bad. But I think I can deal with it a little longer.

I think Ken took over after that or something. I wasn't really aware of Lingenfelter until last year or the year before.

Yes there were a lot of Callaways in the garage. The Callaway C12 is my favorite I think, well the Carbon one 👍.
