Super gt series s1 // cancelled, read latest post

Unfortunately, I've got bills to pay...which means as much as I would like to, I can not take a day off to play video games all day. Lol. Enjoy that while you can! I can probably be on a couple hours before regular race time on Fri. and I know I'm already busy on Thurs.

As far as tires, I always practice with race hards, it helps show the flaws in the tune. Again, I wait until race day and see what everyone else runs. If anyone else is running softs, then I don't believe there is any benefit to running hards. The guys running softs can get enough of a lead that it won't matter if they need to pit once more then you.

Yeah, alright and yes I am enjoying it LOLZ. anyway, I work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week in the summer, which really sucks but I make alot of $$$. My dad is a GM at a car dealership, so I do lot stuff and wash cars, its a really fun job and the guys there are great.
 
I'm off Friday cause of some teacher work day or something. Idk it's for report cards so I will be on at random times during the day.

I'm still having trouble figuring the tire wear out. It seems to be to inconsistent from test day to race day. It's forced me just go race to race without a pit strategy until the race actually starts, then calculate your pit stops as you watch the first set of tires go. That's the best I can come up with until this "tire grip bug" gets resolved.

Are you looking at tire wear in like free run or offline in practice? I have noticed that tire wear has a big difference in free offline in practice then the actual race. I can last longer on tires in the race then what i could do in free run.
 
^Thats been the case since day 1. The problem I was describing has been introduced in the last couple patches. The 'bug' causes various tire wear rates between players in the same race, and it only seems to happen during an actual race. There's an article about it in the GTP news section.
 
O ok i will take a look at it have not seen anything about a bug with tire wear recently just the bug with the steering wheels and amount of people in the room.
 
That's correct, that's what I mean. It's apparently connected to the people using wheels and mics, and it causes their tires to loose grip and subsequently wear much faster. I use a wheel and a mic, therefor I am effected by this often, but I'd rather work around it then race without my wheel.

I have been affected by that glitch plenty of times before. It mainly effects lap times and car handling due to a room with more then 12 people. And those with wheels are the ones affected by it. I have never had a issue with tire wear and I have not heard about tire wear being affected by this. I just know that it can make you run slow lap times. I guess the lack of grip would cause tires to wear faster but I have not see a significant difference in tire wear due to the glitch.
 
Yea, that's all I meant by it. I'm pretty comfortable in the SuperGT cars and I have specific lap times that I plan on running at alot of tracks. When the bug hits and slows my car, I burn the tires off it trying to make my lap times. After all, we are not in a car cruise, it's a race and I wanna go fast! :D

I hate when the bug happens because I don't realize it right away and I'm just like wtf happened and then I push it harder and I get about a second off butt I'm still far off pace. I have not had the bug in sgt cars but I have had it in lmp at spa and that just sucks. And I agree I want to go fast too. :P
 
That's what happened to me, last Friday. From Qualifying, to the race. I ended up driving a totally different car. It was loose before, but during the race, Man! I had a decent quali-time too. I have a wheel, and a mic. At the end, I was just trying to keep out of everyone's way. I'm going to try to modify my setup to a slight understeer, and see how that works..lol

@ Mudd and dowhat13: If you can, try to find a friend who will run you're car for a teammate, even if they're not on GTP. Since both of you're cars are some of the least popular, otherwise, we'll just wait and see if anyone joins, and if not, I might take out team standings, anyway...

@ Everyone:
Thursday Night I will be running some races and throghout the day on Friday, No school due to budget :D
 
I will probably do a tire thing at Monza Thursday night or Friday just to see what it's like. I'm thinking that you can get at least 15 on rms take a pit and then just finish off with softs cause the few races I have done softs and mediums barely wear at all in 5 laps. Also you do grip on real right?

@ dowhat13 and Mudd, Do you guys mind running on the same team, I am going to limit it to 12 people, and put you guys on the same team, Try to find a car you both like

Of course, Mudd will need to go and put the first miles ever on his Z.... :P I'll work on it tonight, though.

And we can get some massive practice in ;) Anyway, hope to see you there I will have my lounge open as early as 6PM PST tonight, got some other practice to do...

Idc what we do I'm fine with Daytona road. Sucks that there is no Daytona road course with 24h and weather change considering the Rolex 24 is basically what starts off the racing season.

LOL. yeah, he called me a name and threw a f-ing chair at me... 👍 then I got involved, LOL. my dad doesn't even care... He said since he started it he doesnt give a sh**. So anyway, Ill see you soon, probably a hour and a half at earliest, sitting at the office :D
