I have been looking for the Cerbera Speed 12 since I started the game (which I bought on release day) and I FINALLY had it show up last night. And I've been pretty careful not to do more than 5 events in a row.

The thing I've noticed is that if you want a car from a specific market, sometimes it's a pain to find them. Sure if you want a Miata 1800 RS you can buy it as a Roadster or MX-5 but if you want it in the name you're used to, it can take a while. Especially for me, I like my 240SX to be called what it's called in North America. I've never seen a Silvia IRL. Same with the Soarer/SC300/SC430 or Skyline Coupe/G35. The Miata was the worst though because there's 34 different versions of it.

Want a rare car? Only buy them if they have less than 1000 km.
That's what I'm doing.

Initially I bought every car in order to get them all.
After doing that, I sold off the ones with more than 10,000 km and bought the ones with less than 10,000 km.
Now I am down to less than 1000 km. Much tougher. But I have 600+ cars in my Standard garage.

Jesus, I've probably got all the major rare cars except the Cerbera Speed 12. It might have appeared when I first start playing over a year ago but not once since. That said I probably went over the 5 events check a couple of times.:grumpy:

No cars are rare, not even these. If you want a specific car go to marketplace and trade for the relevant ticket. Simples

The World of Warcraft forums are ---> that way. Your loot doesn't come in blue, green and yellow here. Well it does but for a different reason. The only thing that makes a car "rare" is that it's one model buried within 800 other cars and presented randomly to the player. One man's rare car is another man's common car.

This thread jogged my memory about a car i've only ever seen in 1 race. I think it was a b-spec at Daytona.

Huge big spoiler on the back, open sides, like one of those things that races in the US on oval dirt tracks.

Is that enough of a description?

It's the Suzuki Escudo. It's been around since GT1 I think. GT2 for sure. It was originally used to run the Pike's Peak Hill Climb. I think that's the one you're after.

The Escudo doesn't have "open sides", though I'm not entirely sure what is meant by that. Exposed driver, perhaps? The only thing I can come up with is the Toyota 7... big slab of a spoiler and open cockpit.
